I learned about Aurender N100/N10 almost a month ago from friend in Burbank, CA. I sold my Lumin as my Devialet already has a (Magic Wire ha ha marketing techno babble) DAC and didn't want the redundancy. I emailed suggestion to Lumin months ago that a smaller Lumin w/ large caching drive, w/o on-board dac and outboard P/S would likely have market in fast changing server/streamer market. Prices of SSD drives will continue to drop and soon enough spinning platters will be as antiquated as the old floppy drive and NAS with large SSD's will be ubiquitous.

Can't find answer to, and no reply after weeks to Aurender support: "Can Aurender X100 be controlled in my system, Devialet 120 > router > iPad on home network offline?" (I used my old Lumin A1 offline on my network with no problem.) I reside in rural area with only Verizon Jetpack option for internet connectivity and am limited to 4GB data usage monthly, so offline use on network is a must. Admit I am not up to speed with these digital issues. Sold my Lumin A1 as poor marriage with my Devialet 120. The Devialet sounds best connected digitally to digital source and/or used with Devialet AIR function. I'd like to get my NAS out of my system as simplification and best SQ for money are my goals at this time in my life.

Cycling consciously. Listening attentively to music with little distraction. I usually do both. Changes were only matters of aging, from loss of hearing acuity/tinnitus (and serious protection of what hearing is left by listening at low/moderate volumes) and preference for a recumbent or diamond frame bike with a well-worn Brooks.

I'm no psychiatrist but suspect that audio alters, man caves, systems detailed in forum sigs, endless posts about X is better than Y because.., etc. correspond strongly to male need for approval and the general guy love of tools and gadgets. Started audio hobby in early 70's and today think it's best of times for assembling an audio system with excellent SQ cheaper than any time previously. I like the one box + source + smaller speakers approach these days, and I keep the boxes in a simple IKEA cabinet and no one would know by looking in my listening space that I'm an audiophile at heart. I think the number #1 detriment to better system SQ is aging and the almost universal loss of some hearing acuity. While it doesn't take away from love of music listening, it does make ruminations on such smaller matters such as, "which USB cable sounds best?" seem rather silly. My credo from the past remains the same today, which is "the music matters most." I have no reason to offend anyone here and apologies to any who may take offense.

Article: A Visit To Devialet in France
Buffalo Boy replied to The Computer Audiophile's topic in Article Comments
Nice article. Anyone know if Devialet + Lumin Network Music Player would function well together? I have no need now for Devialet AIR function with Lumin (but nice to know available for possible future use). Both units have small form factor and user can disable all inputs on Devialet but one they're using. Nice! Read administrator "Mike" on Audio Shark forum loves Lumin but not so much the Devialet's. No desire to join another audio forum to ask one question. -

Not a DIY cable maker so seeking finished connector cable or have someone shorten the OEM one failing that. Thanks for your reply. -

Does anyone know a source for double-ended pin connector connecting Lumin PSU to Lumin? Want to install a shorter length cable than stock cable. Fellow who makes aftermarket PSU's for Lumin does not sell this cable separate from his PSU's. -

To be a bit more clear on my Lumin, Minim issue: The last five additions of new folders to my Synology NAS and its display on my iPad Mini as control for my Lumin A1 is displaying incorrect jpg for the latest added folder. The incorrect jpg moves to the new folder I've added, returning the previous most recent added folder to display correct jpg. I've got up-to-date firmware on my Lumin, iPad, Synology NAS, Minim and Java. My Synology NAS has performed like a champ unlike all the issues I previously had with a QNAP NAS which caused much moaning on forums and teeth gnashing. Thanks to Mark Gurvey for his help all along the way. Thank you too poster here for mentioning S1 P/S running especially hot to the touch. No mention of this in 6 Moons review. As much as I decry lack of upgrade path for A1 owners who'd like to improve their P/S (I'm big believer in better P/S based on my experience with other audio source components), I now have reservations about Lumin S1 P/S with Lumin A1. Perhaps if enough Lumin A1's are in use it will prompt an established audio manufacturer to offer a Lumin A1 P/S alternative. -

I have an A1 and iPad Mini for Minim control. One of my cover art jpg's has moved inappropriately to be folder view on several selections. Frustrating as no matter what tagging edits I've tried the problem persists. -
The Sony triple seven was an excellent player in SQ and build. Before abandoning disc players altogether my last CD/SACD spinner was a Vacuum State fully modified XA5400ES which was so good I still think about the sound quality. None of the computer setups I've had nor heard bettered it and certainly not my Lumin A1/Synology DS214play setup I have now came close to sounding as good.

Using Synology DS214 play with Lumin/Minimsever. Cannot get cover art to appear in some titles. Went into music files within the Synology file station and added cover art to files where missing although does not appear. I also want to understand how to correct tags where individual tracks with cover art display rather than correctly have all tracks contained within one title folder view.
