  1. A late further thanks for the tips on this one. Room correction sounds interesting but I am about to move in the next couple of months so will probably wait until after that. I've made a minor upgrade by ordering some insulating pads for the speaker spikes and will probably get a high level USB cable. Otherwise leaving as is. The most effective upgrade is going to be increasing the quality of my music collection but that is a slow process...
  2. Thanks for the help on this. Glad to realise I didn't get things completely wrong when I built the system. Now time to get the cables made out of angel's tears
  3. That is my one concern. I have read one very long form review where a USB DAC was added as an intermediary step between the computer and Nuforce so: MMini > USB audio DAC > Nuforce DDA-100 > speakers However, I got the slight feeling that this could actually be contrary to or undermining the whole point of the Nuforce new power digital amp. And that what I have now was how it should be... ,i.e. MMini > Nuforce DDA-100 > speakers
  4. Hi all, I've been lurking for a while and using the recommendations on this forum to slowly build an ideal system. At the moment I have the following setup: - Mac Mini hosting the digital music (running iTunes atm and may move to Decibel or equivalent but debating the hassle factor) - NuForce DDA-100 as the digital power amp via USB - PMC Twenty 23s as the speakers I am trying to work out what are the sensible and relatively easy upgrades to the system. I have read a lot about Audioquest Dragonquest USB DAC and was thinking I could use that between the Mac Mini and the Nuforce but, to be quite honest, I am lost on whether it will actually add any value or quality? I have also read that the Mac Mini has a fairly good inbuilt sound card. My other thought is a good Audioquest USB cable? Any other thoughts or sensible options. I have to admit there is no particular necessity to any of this. Just like many men I enjoy the tinkering. Tom
