Hi all,
I've been lurking for a while and using the recommendations on this forum to slowly build an ideal system.
At the moment I have the following setup:
- Mac Mini hosting the digital music (running iTunes atm and may move to Decibel or equivalent but debating the hassle factor)
- NuForce DDA-100 as the digital power amp via USB
- PMC Twenty 23s as the speakers
I am trying to work out what are the sensible and relatively easy upgrades to the system.
I have read a lot about Audioquest Dragonquest USB DAC and was thinking I could use that between the Mac Mini and the Nuforce but, to be quite honest, I am lost on whether it will actually add any value or quality? I have also read that the Mac Mini has a fairly good inbuilt sound card.
My other thought is a good Audioquest USB cable?
Any other thoughts or sensible options.
I have to admit there is no particular necessity to any of this. Just like many men I enjoy the tinkering.
Tom
