  1. Thanks. Just a few qustions: 1) "I rip or download my files into one computer, import to the iTunes folder located in an external USB HDD (backup disc 1) then tag manually and add a cover image. " OK, fine. 2) "Once that is done I transfer the files to an SD card and import them, using a different computer, into the iTunes folder in the NAS (main server) that I used for streaming, which is located in a different network." That's not quite clear to me. When you rip/import new music, there are several files that get changed including the artwork, .itl, .xml, and Music Library.musiclibrary. Do you drag all these files to the appropr places to replace the old versions?
  2. Hi: I am despairingly trying to establish a work flow for synchronizing iTunes (now Music-) folders from one Mac to another without getting a complete mess. That means I am using two Macs in different places and carrying my 1.5+TB Music files (ALAC) between them. But if I add a new album at on location I want to have this album also in the other location. For the time being I have done the meta-data work within iTunes and now in Music even though this new app is much less usable. And there is the catch: It does not always work to run a synchronizer app without getting a mess at one of the two locations. I am using Chronosync. Is CarbonCopyCloner more up to the task? I'd indeed appreciate help in this unpleasant situation.
  3. Hi Guys, please drop me a note whether the present 1.0.2 version of the DAP (stereo) is now the stable version? I don't want to enter in the beta-testing business that many of you are doing. Therefore I wouldn't like a "more stable" version or a "nearly stable" version of DAP in these two years of upgrading an expensive piece of software from 2017 onwards. Thanks.
  4. This never ending story is really getting very annoying. The desktop software, and not a cheap one, doesn't get updates despite them being announced since more than a year ago; and this in the context of a bumpy version 1. What Dirac does is supplying versions that are tailored to obscure brands instead of a general version. As a user from very early on I feel very much neglected by Dirac and made a fool of...
  5. Thanks, Sam. I suspected this OWC dock to be responsible. Sorry for my late reply. Just discovered your comment.
  6. Reinstalled Dirac 1.2 on a High Sierra MacMini and get the error "failed to connect to dirac audio processor device". Also, the installer refused to finish install of the Calibration Tool 1.2. What's wrong? Does the problem have to do with High Sierra? I remember having had similar problems way back when v. 1.2 was introduced.
  7. For using my Dirac Audio Processor it must be accepted as the default audio output on my music iMac upon boot. Many times, unfortunately, the audio output defaults to "USB audio CODEC" and I have to dig into the audio settings to rectify the default. I see this CODEC only on my iMac (in El Capitan and later also in High Sierra) and not on my MacBook Pro (High Sierra). What is this CODEC for and how can I fix my Dirac Processor as the default? For what would I need the CODEC and why isn't is showing on my MacBookPro? Thanks.
  8. I got interested in Tierry's method but couldn't find much of a manual or detailed instructions on the website. Did I miss something?
  9. OK, thanks, I'd be delighted if that worked. I'll try next week. Cheers.
  10. Well, yes, I use CCC, of course. At the beginning I simply cloned all of my iTunes folder to the external SSD, but iTunes even pointed to that Folder did not correctly recognize the Music and also missed the artwork. After a lot of fiddling it's working now but I still don't know where the crucial items belong to for a correct cloning? If I start iTunes on the MB there is an iTunes folder on the internal SSD containing: Album Artwork iTunes Library Extras.itdb iTunes Library Genius.itdb iTunes Library.itl iTunes Media (without a folder Music) iTunes Music Library.xml Previous iTunes Libraries and when pointed to my external SSD, there is an iTunes folder containing: Album Artwork Automaticall Add to iTunes iTunes Library Extras.itdb iTunes Library Genius.itdb iTunes Library.itl iTunes Media (with my large Music folder) iTunes Music Library.xml Some of the x.itdb, x.itl, and .xml items seem to necessarily be in my home folder's Music folder, some may be on the external SSD. Does anybody know which of the items in italics MUST be in my home folder's Music folder and which may reside on the external SSD?
  11. I have my principal iTunes library, 1.5TB media and cover art on my 3TB iMac connected to the music system. Now, for travelling, I purchased a 2TB external drive to use with my MacBook Pro. My problem now is how to synchronize the two iTunes instantiations because on my MacBook iTunes is obviously pointed to the external SSD where the music files are, while some of the (cryptic) iTunes files x.itdb and x.itl reside in the iTunes folder > Music > User. Can you recommend a method that synchronizes these two instantiations without confusing iTunes.app? Thanks!
  12. Hi, Can I use a relatively powerful NAS for playback by ROON into Dirac into Devialet AIR? Any experience out there? Thanks
  13. As some people speak of the plugIn beta, where is it avail- and downloadable? When signing in as a registered user in dirac.se, there is no sign of a plugin. Thanks
  14. Hi, Ear, I have DiracAudioProcessor as a standalone app, playing iTunes with Pure Music 3.0.6. It works perfectly but I don't see any option to add VSTs. Where do you see them?
