  1. Quobuz has the same version, which is only Part 1 of the concert, and also has both Part 1 and Part 2 on BnF at 24/96 for very low prices. I think 7digital does as well, but you need to look like you are in Canada to buy them. I don't know the quality of the BnF versions but I think I remember reading that this is partly a government funded label to preserve music, which is why material on the label is so cheap. Ross.
  2. I emailed CD Japan. The reply is below. Basically they state they obtained the Metheny and Corea albums as a special request for a client, and offer no information about them, including whether they are CDs or SACDs. Ross. Hi. Thank you for your inquiry. This item is not a regular item we sell normally. Another customer requested us to buy it at some other online shop in Japan on his behalf by using the service below. http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/daiko/ Basically, this service allows people to request us to buy items at other online shops that do not have the willingness to send orders overseas. We would just buy requested items at the specified URL at the regular price and then we would resell it to that customer by including a fee to cover the expenses and our time. That's all we do in this service, and assuming that the customer already knows everything that needs to be known, we do not write down the product description or any other information that's available at that online shop we are specified to buy it from. Also, we are unable to go into verifying any information outside of our own website. Also, people request us to buy used items. I'm sorry I have no access to private information of the customer's request. In other words, it will be best if you do not order it if you are not the one who used the above mentioned above. 3. Benjamin Grosvenor on Decca. Very good young pianist. Excellent reviews when it came out a couple of years ago. Coupled with Saint-Saëns and Ravel piano concertos. 24/96 on Qobuz and Highresaudio. Ross

  5. Jud, If your CD storage was from Per Madsen (or something like that), I agree it is really nice and have 9 drawers for CDs which are getting pretty full. Unfortunately he closed down a few years ago, he sold off all of his stock and it is now unavailable. Ross.
  6. They are listed on quobuz. 24/96 quality. I looked at HOTH re-mastered, which costs 15 euros. Ross.
  7. I use a Mac. Make a Bluray back up with MakeMKV to remove the protection. The rip with DVD audio extractor. The same list comes up for me as you show. CSNY 1974 has 40 titles and can be ripped in LPCM 24/192. All of those tracks show as 24/192 on audacity. CSNY 1974 can also be ripped in AC3 at 48k, although why one would do that I don't know. Hope this helps. Ross.
  8. Ripped the Blu-ray when it first came out. All of the tracks are 24/192 when checked on Audacity, and the Blu-ray lists all of the tracks that way. Not sure why only the first 11 are showing up for you that way. Did you pick the right set to rip. I cannot remember, but some of the non-LPCM sets on the Blu-ray may not be 24/192. Ross.
  9. I think you are in the wrong forum. The "Networking, Networked Audio, and Streaming" forum is more likely to be helpful for this question.
  10. Sorry. It is Bitches Brew that MoFi has just released. Although the question still holds. Ross.
  11. Anyone know anything about the new MoFi SACD that is on the Music Direct site? It says that this is a new mastering from the original analog tapes. Ross.
  12. I suspect that it is because your DAC does not decode DSD directly, therefore JRiver changes it to the best PCM output that your DAC can manage. With a DSD-capable DAC the output should remain the same as the input. Ross.
  13. Downloaded last night. Terrible download experience. Downloader installer crashes repeatedly with OSX10. Tar files will take hours to download at stall if you try that option. Used Windows in VMWare and then it only took 30mins. However, the music is wonderful. Live with lots of little background noises, but brilliant playing. The bass is a little forward and obvious, but not overwhelming. Great value at €14 for 24/88.2 files in almost any format you could want, when the boxset of CDs is $40 on Amazon, and the 6 SACDs are about $40 each secondhand (strange that the SACDs follow the LP layout and therefore you need six, instead of the 4 CD boxset. All versions contain the same music
  14. My response when I contacted MoFi last October: Thank you for your email. We are hoping to release Chicago II by the end of this year however we have not received a release estimate for our sound lab for CTA. Customer Service Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab 1811 W. 15. I made a backup with makemkv on a MacPro, which took about 5 minutes. I have an OWC blu-ray player with an LG unit in it. I ripped the backup with DVD audio extractor. The new 2 channel mix is the first title (96/24), with the three original tracks as a single unit. The second title is the old 2 channel mix (192/24), also as a single unit. I put these into Audacity and split them in to the three tracks and exported them in FLAC. They then played perfectly in Audirvana, and imported into Meridian Sooloos, also playing perfectly. They both sound way better than any other version I have heard, going all the way back to the original LP release that I bough in the UK when it came out. Lots more detail, and the new mix seems to have an enormous soundstage, yards lateral to the speakers. Quite remarkable.
