  1. I can confirm the same issue with both FlacPlayer and iPeng and 24/96 material going to Audiolab MDAC from an iPad3 via the CCK to USB. 16/44, 16/48 and 24/44 and 24/48 have no issues. The combo was fine on ios6.
  2. I've been on a search for a good player and phone/tablet remote combo to match the Sonos experience. Bonus if it does multiple zones but not necessary. The obvious answer would just to buy a Sonus but to my ears, even using an external DAC, its not as good as a good computer audio setup. Though I am happy with my current setup (Foobar /w DACP plugin and Apples own Remote app) it is missing a few features I would like and has one annoying thing based on the DACP protocol itself. Otherwise its fast, stable and works well at what it does do. The functionality I want is to build a queue dynamically with an "add song next", "add song to end" and "play now" concept like a sonos. I can sorta do this with a playlist but its clunky and one missed click and all of the sudden you are playing something you didn't want because DACP protocol adds the entire album to the "now playing" playlist if you select a single song. Though if its a item on a playlist it will play the playlist instead. But its a pain being in playlist edit mode vs. just browsing and adding as the music plays. The closet app I have tried was the Linn Kinsky uPNP app but I found it very buggy and slow and the uPNP overhead of selecting zones, etc all the time. I am stuck to looking at using a iOS app, preferably one that works with ios3 as my controllers will be an old iPod Touch 1st gen (stuck at ios3.1.3), an old iPhone 3GS, my iPhone 5 and a couple of iPad 3rd Gens all running iOS6. I could probably retire the 1st gen ipod and go to a newer app but it seems a shame to waste a good piece of hardware that is a capable control point. Anyone have any recommendations? JRemote gets good recommendations here, though I don't use JRiver, I am sure its comparable to Foobar. Though the review said it couldn't edit playlists, etc. so I am not sure it could do the queue management thing (unless it has access to the "now playing" queue to do so). Free is also a plus but I don't mind spending a bit on good software.
