  1. This sounds like that may work out OK for the Mac. Unfortunately, my DAW is on a PC (although I also have a Mac). It's a long story but that is my set-up right now. I'll try this on my Mac just for grins but it won't resolve my current problem. Do you know of a comparable option for the PC? The above link I posted uses Virtual Audio Cable to accomplish a similar thing on the PC but VAC can't accept plug-ins directly so you need some kind of hosting app. So that solution needs three different pieces of software (that you must purchase separately) and it is a little awkward. It seems like there is a lot of potential for problems with all this going on. I just don't understand why someone has not written a one-stop solution for this. It seems like a no-brainer. I am intrigued about the Apple Parametric EQ plug-in. I Googled it but can't find any info on it. Mike Smith www.stealthsubwoofer.com
  2. Thanks Chris, The plug-in looks very nice (in fact, I just downloaded the demo) but I noticed it is for VST apps. iTunes can't handle VST plug-ins can it? Is there a solution that will apply to iTunes or better yet, all the audio output from the computer in real-time? I can't believe there is not an existing solution to do this! 3. I totally agree. I am looking for a solution to the same problem. I have some very nice powered studio monitors connected to a USB audio interface (M-Audio FastTrack Pro) and I want to add some parametric EQ to correct for the room. Sure, I could add an external parametric EQ but why add an expensive large box to my desktop when I have all this processing power just sitting here already? There is a ton of audio analysis out there like the excellent and free Room EQ Wizard http://www.hometheatershack.com/roomeq/. We should be able to export the results of our frequency response measurements and apply an inverse filter to some software that applies that filter to all audio being sent from the audio interface. It seems as simple as creating a custom audio interface driver. I doubt M-Audio has a software development kit for their USB interfaces but I would be interested if they did. I found this discussion for Windows. It sounds like a clunky solution http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/computers-games-htpc-digital-devices/6529-htpc-parametric-eq.html There has to be an elegant solution to this requirement but I have yet to find it. Maybe there are latency problems that complicate development of such a product. I'll keep looking. Mike Smith www.stealthsubwoofer.com
