  1. Thanks for the response, butI'm afraid that memory is not the problem- the Think Pad has 8megs of ram... -Howard
  2. Hi- I'm now using JRivier Media Center18 playing through a Peachtree Nova (w/built in DAC) and Ohm-Walsh 2000 speakers. The sound is excellent, but the program itself is cluggy(sp?). It frequently doesn't open or when it opens it fails to find the music listed in the library and needs to be restarted. And it will occasionally record skipping an occasional song and does other odd stuff. When I was using a mac itunes with Ammara I had no such problems and the sound was also fabulous, but I don't have the mac any more. Is there a music player for Win7 that has really good sound and works without trouble? Easy to set up is a major plus. Thanks. -Howard
  3. I can't find the skin you refer to. If I click audio than view a list of skins comes up but not at all like the one that mimics itunes (does it work like itunes?) If you can steer me to that I'd certainly appreciate it. I tried to sort it on the track column but that didn't work and than the track column disappeared. Sorry to be so incompetent with this, but... Thanks again -Howard
  4. Thanks for your prompt response. How do I set up JRivier to mimic itunes? I find it clumsy, i.e. I can't seem to find the way to change the order of cuts in an album that JRiver has mis-ordered. I'd sure appreciate any info. I can get to set it up so that it doesn't need constant attention. Thanks again. -Howard
  5. Hi- I'm using JRiver and recording in flac for my music player. The sound is excellent, but I find it very clumsy compared to itunes running on a mac. Is there a way to use itunes, keeping my flac recordings, on the win7 computer and still get excellent sound? If not, is there a win7 music player that sounds good and has the elegance of itunes? Thanks. -Howard
