  1. I have been using the Lagoon USB into this a DSpeaker Anti-Mode 2.0 Dual Core for the past few months. I send the unbalanced RCA analogue output from the Dual Core through a Belles 21A preamp to my powered PMC AML1 speakers. I did try the Dual core directly into the XLRs of the speakers, but liked the preamp in the chain better (unfortunate, because it would have had a VERY small foot print without the it). I have treated my dedicated listening room with home-made bass traps extensively, but may be able to simplify the treatment after adding the dual core. Grand slam home run. I doubt I will listen without a Dual core in my system again. The soundstage takes over the room and the veil is lifted. Setup takes five minutes. This is the future of listening to music.
  2. Yeah, I have a recurrence of the same issue with my DAC today also. I had been waiting to try computer based playback for a while and hoped that the PITA aspect I had encountered when trying in years past was gone. Guess not.
  3. I think you are required to use the lower slot with using a single stick with this board
  4. I get the same exact issue (I started another thread, but this is the issue). The only solution I have found is to turn the DAC on before booting up the CAPS and then leave both on. I had planned to leave the CAPS on indefinitely, but would prefer to turn the DAC on and off when I use it. I am using Wasapi Event..
  5. Using either a Ross Martin Audio DAC or more recently DSpeaker Dual Core fed by the USB output from the Lagoon, the J River will "hang" when swiching inputs. I need to keep both the DAC and the Dual Core turned on all the time or J river will switch the audio output back to default (and won't reacquire the USB DAC when the DAC is turned back on) Any way around this issue? If my description is unclear, would be happy to try to explain again. Thanks.
  6. I had purchased the Windows 8 Pro DVD from Newegg (and even though I have purchased computer compenents from Newegg for fifteen years will NEVER buy again from them). Any software I buy from in the future, I will download. I had trouble creating a thumb drive boot disk. If you get the message, "The selected File is not a valid ISO-File" then isoavdpcopy located at Using the Windows 7 USB Download Tool with ANY .iso file - MIS Laboratory - Resources for Tech Faculty and Students - Site Home - MSDN Blogs will fix it. You will need to run it from the command line (DOS commands). There are other programs for this issue too.
  7. Logic Supply promptly responded to my email and has already shipped the bracket. Superb servcie and I will definitely add Logic Supply - Industrial & Embedded Computers to my list of reliable and responsive online vendors. I have no relationship or financial connection.
  8. Didn't get one with the SOtM card and I emailed Simple Design and was told it was part of the case, but can't find anything like it. It ought to be an "L" shaped bracket about 1cm per side. I guess I will email Logic supply and see if they can help. I guess everyone else got one with the case. Thanks.
  9. This is a photo of the rear of the case showing a gap at the end of the tX-USBexp card trim plate. Any suggestions?
  10. Splashtop and J River 18 installled on Lagoon. Using Jremote, it will freeze often. After this occurs, when I sign in to the server from Splashtop, it appears J River is attempting to send to the client computer rather than the USB output on the server. Are there settings in J River, Splashtop or Windows 8 Pro to address this? Regards and sorry I could not locate answer with search.
