As I've been looking at more sources, I'm not quite as firm as I once was. When can I expect your review? Have you compared it with any other DACs in its price range?

That's my new favorite, care to share any of your experiences and/or comparisons?

Thanks for the help so far guys, I guess I should've clarified a little more. $2000 is my limit pretty much. I'm using it for a mostly headphone set up with occasional preamp use. A built in amplifier is nice but not necessarily needed. I'm surprised the Mytek isn't getting more love despite all the discussion around here. However, I appreciate some different options you guys are giving me. As far as a specific sound, honestly I'm not too sure. My current DAC is a cheap $250 model so this would be a major upgrade to my system. I just want to be sure I get the best value for my dollar considering the investment. DSD would also be nice but not a must. Thanks!

Hello all, I'm new here but was looking for some opinions. I asked the same question on another forum but wanted to hear some other viewpoints. I was wondering if anyone had any comments or comparisons between these 3 DACs before I make a purchase: Mytek STEREO192-DSD Benchmark DAC2 HGC Fostex HP-A8C I can't seem to make a decision based on the reviews I've read. Also, if I've missed any that should be considered, let me know. Thanks!
