  1. True, but bass below 20hz is actually important to some people for certain movies. For music, I don't think the SMS rolloff is a big concern unless it affects you in the upper bass.
  2. Thanks. That's very surprising! It's worth a read, as the issue is not simply that the SMS will produce 50% distortion in every case, but still, a curious design decision.
  3. Have any links on the subject that adding an SMS-1 adds 50% distortion? Don't see why a param. eq should do that, particularly when you use it to cut peaks rather than filling gaps in frequency response.
  4. I also went with a Rythmik sub, though I purchased one of their ready made options. So far I have achieved pretty good integration with my Monitor Audio bookshelves. For me, the Rythmiks have a great combination of features, output, extension, small size, low distortion, and price. You could even use them for home theater if you wanted to, but they excel at music.
