  1. Of course, +10000000 once you heard Kleiber's 5th (and 7th) there will be non other, first time I heard it, I thought, how can one top all the other versions that are already well known! Simply amazing, and there you may hear about Carlos Kleiber for the first time, and you already regret there is so few recordings from one of the most amazing director ever (no kidding). Check some of the Youtube samples ... and recordings of course BTW I already have the CD version, for those who have both : StudioMaster and CD, is it worth buying it for a 1974 recording? I just wonder? Thanks
  2. Happy owner of a DAC2, not sure I can really compare but presence is there no doubt. With Foobar, DSD64, no issue here, grabbed some sample here: High Resolution Music DOWNLOAD services .:. FLAC in free TEST BENCH. However, DSD128 is not yet supported (who cares really at this point) The device is compatible 110/220 with standard power cable. Build is very professional. I dont think you would regret it. If you cant afford it, consider MyDAC for $300 or Juli@ soundcard, amazing value for $100
  3. I just acquired a Benchmark DAC2, pretty spectacular upgrading from a Juli@ ESI soundcard (which is btw excellent value for around $100). I havent listened much yet but what I can say is build is really solid, many inputs, plug and play, no jitter and the sound, is well: sound is what is it is, bad recording stays bad, but great is really great, I started with the "Getz/Gilbert" album, high def version and it sounded amazing, I felt musicians were in the room. I suspect this is what happens with a high-end DAC, so I am not sure I can recommend it against other similar rig but, I am quite happy with it. I am going though my whole collection again. Benchmark have other models cheaper, well worth looking into it (more in the $1000 range)
  4. ??? Decibel 30$ vs free Foobar ? what Decibel would do that Foobar cant?
  5. Personally I would not hesitate for WD RED drives although GREEN may work fine until ... Traditional drives have error correction built in that may delay drive operations, enticing your NAS believeing something is wrong. You dont want that. RED is extra precaution to ensure smooth RAID operation. All confirmed by real experts: AnandTech - Western Digital Red Review: Are NAS-optimized HDDs Worth the Premium?
