  1. Follow up to the sotm and high Rez issues. The sotm issue ended up being the plug and play drivers in the Classe CP800. With the current setup, it will not work with USB 3.0. According to Classe, a board revision will be available in spring 2013 that will allow it to work with usb3.0 and allow it to process and play 192khz files. This is great news for CP800 owners. I am also experiencing great results with windows 7 in regards to lower latency, the glitches with windows 8 higher latency were causing poor playback. Not sure exactly what the #'s mean, windows seven runs at 41, windows 8 rarely ran below 1000, usually around 1100. Please respond if you know better, we look forward to honest input.
  2. Following up on previous post regarding multi resolution playback. I have found that the sotm is definitely the problem since I can us the motherboard usb with out issue. I have also noticed the latency on windows 8 is awful. See this link for further info: Windows 8's greatest weakness: DPC latency - AnandTech Forums i am switched back to windows 7 and the latency is excellent, however the sotm card still does not work. And first impressions, windows 8 on the motherboard sounds much better than 7. If anyone finds a fix for the sotm, let us know. If anyone knows of a port or interrupt fix since some of the readers do not have this problem, please let us know.
  3. It is the contact us address off the web site incase I mis type it here: [email protected] Please post any results here so we can share the knoweldge.
  4. The following is the response from sotm. I will post again when they reply. "Thank you for the detailed explanation, I understood well. In this case , the tX-USBexp driver has to be updated, and we’re waiting for TI’s answer, since this driver is release by TI chipset. We already reported this issue to TI, and it will take time to get the answer from them, can you please understand this situation? Once a new OS such as windows 8 releases, it always has the compatibility issue, and it needs time to solve it, so I need your favor to wait until then. We’re going to post up the classe cp800 dac on the compatibility issue lists with tX-USBexp, and update the new driver news shortly. We’ll keep supporting you this matter, if you need any help from us, please email me back. Thank you very much. Best Regard, May Park Tel : +82-41-576-7663 www.sotm-audio.com"
  5. I am experiencing the same issues as Norman posted, (see my prior posts). Has any one gotten the sotm exp card 3.0 to play files alternating resolutions with out it locking up? If so, can you respond helping us with the settings? I have contacted sonore, sotm, and this posting for advice with no luck so far. The sotm does sound better than the mother board 2.0 ports so the sotm is worth the efforts. As listed prior, the mother board plays all resolutions with out issue so my problem is with the sotm interface. Thanks so much for any help,
  6. New info on high res play back. It will play 24/96 or 24/44 on start up. But locks up when I try to move from one to the other. Giving me the window. It only does this on the sotm output. On motherboard USB it plays all Rez files. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Paul
  7. I get a window: 1. Program is also running under different user account. 2. Media Center 18 and Media Server are both in Windows Start Up. You must delete one. 3. The program is not responding for an unknown reason. I'm using a Classe CP 800 Dac/Pre. Thanks Paul
  8. My V3 is up and running. Sounds great. Using J River 18 and Windows 8 Pro. It will not play high res files. What did I miss in software install?
  9. Upgraded from Windows 7 and MC 17 to Windows 8 Pro and MC 18. Huge improvement in sound but I'm getting random tics on all files I play. Any suggestions?
