thank you! and yes, you are very right. i am a big fan of bill evans', but since he has been mentioned various times already i will refrain from posting more of his work. i enjoyed this rather recent record by herbie hancock, a tribute to joni mitchell:

i did not have the time yet to go through the whole thread - as extensive as it is. i just want to express my gratitude for everybody's recommendations. i already found so many interesting albums and artists to try out, there surely are many hours of listening pleasure ahead of me. i have been reading the ca forums for quite a while without posting, now i just had to leave a quick message! please go on, everybody. i am happily awaiting further recommendations!
