  1. This is what I played today, "Nat King Cole Sings The Blues" on a very old vinyl. Still sounds great though.
  2. wow! so many great suggestions, thank you everybody! I will let you now which I end up using. thanks all once again!
  3. Thanks chaps.. well I have done the select all and copy in to a spreadsheet, problem is it by tracks not album, so I get a track entry for each CD. I could just remove the track name entry, then remove the duplicates per album. As for the script, this seems to only work on a iTunes playlist, not the entire library, is that the case?
  4. Hello all, I have around 850 albums in iTunes, and JRiver. I have all the CD's in disc wallets and have discarded all the plastic cases. I want to produce a database where I can list the location of each CD in the four walls cases. Example I would like to be able to see that Mozart's Marriage Of Figaro, is in wallet 3, sleeve 10 and so on. To save me having to type the artist name and title of each CD I was hoping to have a simple list exported from either iTunes or JRiver. I have examined the library export tool in both cases, but it is far too complicated, I want one entry per CD. Is this possible?
  5. Elvis Presley - "Reconsider Baby" from 1960's "Elvis Is Back".
  6. Hello, I have not encountered the symptoms you describe with a similar set up. I use a synology NAS and various control devices (JRemote, Marantz, iTunes and Bubble uPnP). All of these work fine, so I attempted to replicate your problem. I managed to scroll through hundreds of albums from A-Z. Of course your issue up is not to do with the Marantz, it is the data between the server and the remote application running on the iPad. When managing selections you are not yet interacting with the Marantz, it is only when you make a selection and press play and the data starts streaming to Marantz does it start to play it's part. if you can not scroll to the full extent of your library refresh the app, make sure you have the latest version and try again. Also try rebooting your router as well, it may help. If you still have issues then personally I would jump ship on the Marantz app and purchase Bubble UPnp as it as a much superior system, I hardly ever choose the Marantz app, it is way to under featured for me.
  7. I saw a news item today where Samsung revealed a new 16TB SSD hard drive. no mistake 16 TB.... Terabytes! No prices yet, but that baby is gonna cost a lot! see http://www.sciencealert.com for the story...
  8. This is the result of legislation struggling to keep up with the changing technical world. There is a legal issue here that needs to be addressed but until then this will remain an unenforceable piece of legislation. It effectively makes large parts of the computer audio industry illegal. But can you really imagine everyone who has a ripped CD on their iPod being even questioned, let alone prosecuted. Crazy.....
  9. Mahler's 5th. I like all of it but especially movement IV, which is sublime.
  10. Amazon sent me notification today that my prime membership now includes a music streaming service. This is in addition to my cloud library, which is a cloud copy of my purchased items. i am streaming albums right now, it works, sounds ok (.mp3 I suspect) but it at no extra cost to my prime membership so I am not complaining! Very happy with it, provides a good platform to audition music prior to purchase.
  11. Thanks! great informative answer. Having read this, I tried again. This time I did the reserved address allocation correctly and bingo all is working as you described. The router really was conflicted by my own error which was totally my fault. So I will be keeping the unit, thanks again!
  12. OK, so I found that I had a conflict in the router between the 'reserved' (static) address and the DHCP address? Somehow I did things in the wrong order on the router and ended up creating this conflict, which caused the router to 'lock up'. So I started again this morning and it all seems fine now, both are operating on 'reserved' addresses. so far so good, the return has been cancelled, gonna keep it now...
