  1. My main hifi rig is gone as it was hard to get quality time in that room for music, i now have a desktop and headphones. However the lounge is used mainly for TV, but my new setup fits well and works for immersive music when allowed. 4K ATV, Arc, Mini Sub, 2 Play One surrounds.
  2. Bob's Atmos Music Playlist Im very new to this and only using a Sonos Arc with 2 rears and 4K ATV. Have you tried the Gabriels 'Angles & Queens' sound very good even on my basic setup.
  3. It’s been a great read from start to end, but i’d be interested in a normal working man system. What would someone build in a standard lounge for everyday use?
  4. Sonos has a basic looking interface to Apple Music , so a port would do a basic job. https://www.sonos.com/en-us/shop/port Tidal could be a better option using Tidal connect or Spotify if they are not concerned with lossless.
  5. View Classified FS: Lumin D2 in Black Lumin D2 in original packaging. No marks full working order. UK sale £1350 Seller keeper Date 12/19/21 Price Category Music Servers / Streamers
  6. I was just thinking about the elements that the Lumin app does not have for the non Tidal Connect products. Not sure if Lumin can do further developments on Tidal content as I guess they are limited by the provided API.
  7. I know using airplay with Apple Music has been discussed in terms of lossless. With the Tidal HiFi new cheaper plan I assume this will remain as CD quality on Lumin if you use full volume? Anything to be aware of or has anyone tested this?
  8. Thank you But will the Tidal Connect issue be resolved on the D2? At the moment I have to use Sonos which leaves the D2 sat unused, this is a very limiting factor in the D2 when most low end streamers can use Tidal connect.
  9. Hi Peter Will the D2 get the Spotify HiFI connect or could it be excluded as with Tidal Connect? Will we ever get Tidal connect even my old Sonos works with it, what’s the technical issue with the D2?
  10. @rodrigaj Ah I’m in the UK and my upload speed is about 20 mbps and 80 mbps download. Just left it running on the NAS for a few days.
  11. So are these all stored in the same location? Thats a single point of failure. I have main library on a NAS, backed up to another drive in the same NAS, and also backed up to a separate NAS, but then backed up to a cloud using idrive to ensure I have a completely offsite incremental back up to cover, theft, fire , flood etc.
  12. Qobuz will just stop responding to your emails and no refund will be provided. I paid via PayPal and raised an issue that way, once again Qobuz failed to respond, PayPal found in my favour and provided a refund. Make sure you have all your ticket numbers provided by support to prove no action or resolution has been provided.
  13. Strange LUMIN confirm it’s lossless and it sounds very good. LUMIN + AirPlay LUMIN is an AirPlay-compatible receiver. Streaming to LUMIN is lossless providing that the iPhone/iPad is set to maximum volume. LUMIN will appear on your iOS device with the name you have given it in the LUMIN App settings.
  14. I think for Apple this will be lossless in all but name, I don’t see any hardware support for this and building a streamer PC or having a Mac mini with all the control issues will be a non starter. Plus you real hifi guys will question bit perfect etc, the result will be most of you will stick with Qobuz I assume, Spotify when launched may be different using connect. Apple are just playing a numbers game here.
  15. I had the same issue when support asked me to log out and I lost the lot. I had issues also with CarPlay only displaying downloaded content, and in the IOS app it did not show all albums for the artist. I raised all the tickets got no where with Qobuz, asked support to raise it to the management team, nothing. Paid a years subscription to find lots of the mobile offerings did not work, raised a case to PayPal , no reply from Qobuz, reviewed by PayPal who found in my favour and provided a refund. These guys clearly need to advertise what the current product offering is and how it works. The terms of contract don’t seem to match the offering, I’m out and won’t use the service again. Pity the sound quality is very good, support for the product is poor, and unless the team rapidly grows will only get worse if they expand to more countries as detailed in the podcast. Seems strange Tidal allow you to log out for a period and actually provide a method to restore your offline content if required.
