  1. Dear John, Thank you very much for the extensive explanation, I understand the described interdependencies now better. Best regards, Stefan
  2. Hello everybody, I recently ordered a Mac mini DC-Conversion / Linear Fan Controller Kit (MMK) to eliminate the control pulses of the fan affecting sound quality. (I already use an USB Regen and I am very satisfied with it.) I hope I will receive it in Germany in the next few weeks. I am very curious what the sound differences will be compared to the currently installed power filter in my Mac mini containing 16 capacitors fed by an external higy quality power supply. In the description of the MMK is stated that "The MMK also provides a carefully chosen amount of filtering (a pile of filter caps after a regulated external supply is not good for performance)." I would very much like to understand why more than a few well selected and matched caps are counterproducitve. For any hints thank you in advance. Best regards, Stefan

    Audirvana + 2.0

Hello everybody, I observed that Audirvana + 2.x doesn't recognize any metadata in dsf files. I checked the files with different tag editors and the metadata are included. Do you have any idea what the problem is and what the solution could be? Thanks Stefan

    HQ Player

Hello everybody, I'm trying to find out if there is a way to set up HQPlayer for sampling up only 2x or 4x. Or in other words, I would like to have the chance not to be forced to sample up 44.1 kHz or 88.2 kHz always to 192 kHz, if 192 kHz is the limit I have chosen. For any hint thank you in advance, Stefan

    Audirvana + 2.0

Hello everybody, If I synconise the iTunes library with A+ (latest version), a lot of "msng" entries start to appear suddenly in the metadata displayed in iTunes. Is there a way just to readout the iTunes playlist structure by A+ without affecting the metadata retroactively by A+? Thanks for any idea Stefan
  8. Dear Community, I have beein using Amarra sQ for a while without problems until it suddelny crashed my system on a Mac mini (OS X 10.9.4) during running VLC. After the reboot the device settings and the previously selected audio buffer size in the setup of Amarra sQ were not maintained. After selecting my preferences anew sQ worked again, however it had lost these setting after every closing and restarting sQ. Sonic Stutio's support advised me to do a system drives permissions repair --> done, didn't help; to power off and disconnect the DAC --> done, didn't help; uninstall Amarra sQ and reinstall a fresh installer --> done, didn't help. To my fourth request I didn't receive any more anser from Sonic Studio. Therefore I hope to get some hints from your side, because it is really hard to believe, that there is no structured and traceable way to approach and resolve my problem. There must be a system file, which is corrupted and shuld be deleted. This is all the more so in my opinion, because a system backup from before the system crash restored the capability of Amarra sQ of maintaining the setup preferences. However, that is still not a satisfying soution. For any advice or idea thank you in advance. Best regards, Stefan (from Frankfurt/Germany)
  9. Hello everybody, I am playing around with Amarra sQ, however I cannot find a way to change the numerical values of the parameters like that of the Quality (Q) direcly in the small windows. Only chaging in the values by dragging the coloured dots in the graph with the mouse works, but this way I have no access to Q. Do you have an idea what could be wrong? Thank you for any hint in advance. Stefan
  10. Thanks for the suggestions. I will try. By the way, I didn't find any special settings for my INT203. Do you know a source where I could search? Thanks Stefan
  11. I could send it to you if you find a way.
  12. Thanks! Do you remember the differences between 1.5.10 and 1.5.12? Are there any sonic improvements in 1.5.12? Other line of thought: The only thing I can imagine being a difference between my and your system is, that I use a OS X translated in German, hence the settings of Audirvana are in German as well.
  13. New discoveries: ... I checked, I own the license since A+ 1.1.2 ... additionally: I just started A+ 1.5.10 on both Macs, and it seems to work properly on both hardware configurations. If I stop 1.5.10 and start over with 1.5.12 anew music stops after a few seconds. In the meantime no changes of anything: the same settings and music playlist remain (being shared by both versions). Starting 1.5.12 --> "crash", starting 1.5.10 --> everything is fine, and so on ... This is weird, isn' t it?
  14. Thank you for all your answers and suggestions. It also was my opinion that my Mac Mini is not clean enough. By the way I connect it via firewire to a Weiss INT 203 and than to a DAC, and use only an internal HDD for programs and music. Therefore I tried the most clean way I could imagine and installed the A+ on my wife's MacBook Pro. This Mac had no DAC connected and no special software or security settings. I told A+ to use the internal output, and the music files came to A+ in playlist mode. During installation I was asked for the license (I suppose I have it since the version 1.5.1) and afterwards for permission to install the system optimization feature. That's all. There is no cleaner system and a more modern one than the MacBook Pro, which is however absolutely different from my Mac Mini configuration. Nevertheless, I observe the same problem in both of them. I have the no real idea, but I guess the solution for my problem is rather banal. But what? Is there any special feature in A+ I mustn't activate in OS X 10.9.4? Don't think so. Stefan
  15. Hello everybody, I recently installed OS X 10.9.4 on my mac mini 2010 running on 10.6.8 before without problems with A+ 1.5.12. However, after the update of the OS X A+ stops playing repeatedly after a few seconds. I found a few suggestions in the net and tried them all to resolve the problem but without success. Today I installed A+ on a pretty new MacBook Pro 15". The effect was the same: A+ 1.5.12 and OS X10.9.4 cannot agree. Do you have any idea? Thanks Stefan
