  1. Works properly for me. Sometimes it take some time though.
  2. I send the audio to my Integra AVR over the HDMI cable. The AVR does the decoding but can't accept anything higher than 192kHz so configured JRiver to downgrade anything higher. If 352.8kHz doesn't sound right, I may have something else incorrectly configured; I do get sound but maybe not optimal. I posted the same question over on the JRiver Forum (Playing Multi-channel SACD Rips) and they concluded it was an issue with rips detected as having 5 channels.
  3. I am in the process of ripping my SACDs and everything is seemingly going well except that J River (MC 19.0.138) will not play some of the multi-channel rips, without altering the output format, while it will play others. So far, it will play Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here The following are giving me problems: Chesky - Ultimate Demonstration Disc 2 Antiphone Blues Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells I tried to upload and attach some screen captures to help show what's going on but I was not able. Here is what they would have shown: For Pink Floyd, Input: 352.8kHz 64bit 6ch from source format SACD Changes: Resample from 352.8kHz to 192kHz Output: 192kHz 24bit (padded) 6ch using WASAPI (not using enough bits to output the input directly) For a 2.0 channel song from the Chesky SACD: Input: 352.8kHz 64bit 2ch from source format SACD Changes: Resample from 352.8kHz to 192kHz Output: 192kHz 24bit (padded) 2ch using WASAPI (not using enough bits to output the input directly) --- So the Chesky rip is playable! --- For the 5 channel song from the Chesky SACD: Playback could not be started using the format: 192kHz 64bit 5ch. This format would work: 192kHz 64bit 2ch Would you like to have your DSP Studio... --- Well, no, thank you very much. I don't want 2ch. I don't care about the 64bit I don't understand why the Chesky SACD is not being handled like the Pink Floyd SACD. Any ideas from the other JRiver users?
  4. If, like a lot of us, you can't find a suitable PS3 with the required early firmware, let Jason at Northeastohiopcs fix you up. He does an awesome job of hardware firmware downgrades and is very SACD ripping helpful/knowledgeable.
  5. Problem solved. Thanks Ted and Jason.
  6. I recently got my phat PS3 motherboard back from Jason and I spent some time today getting it ready to rip SACDs. Everything went well until running the Ripper. It prompts for the keys, which are on the same USB flash device that I installed the Ripper from, but when I press the "X" button, the light on the USB device flashes once and then the machine freezes. Pressing the On/Off button on the console is the only way to regain control. If the USB device is not plugged in when I press the "X" button, control returns to the XMB. If I press the "O" button, I am prompted to accept that the Ripper installation will be aborted. I need some help here.
  7. Thanks Guys. I wasn't aware of the JRiver thread. Sweet!
  8. Maybe it's just me, but I have no idea where to find them so, how about linking to them in this thread?
  9. We still can't rip SACDs without jumping through hardware and firmware hoops. It was once suggested that we would be able to rip SACDS, using a 4.x firmware, by mid-2013. It's almost 2014 and that hasn't happened. Is it ever going to be a reality?
  10. They appear to have a few units on eBay; only one of which is SACD capable: Sony PlayStation 3 Launch CECHA01 750 GB 3 55 OFW PS3 RARE Works Great 0711719699651 | eBay
  11. Another bad sale Better luck in the future.
  12. Is the seller on the up-and-up? Didn't he just sell an unused CECHE01 for $375? (PlayStation 3 Console CECHE01 Backwards Comp Still in Plastic w EXTRAS | eBay). How many units does he have?
  13. Can anyone provide a link that documents the "hardware downgrading" procedure?
  14. The box clearly states that the model number is CECHL01, not CECHE01. The unit is listed as only having 2 USB ports and SACD is not listed as Compatible Media. I don't believe this is an SACD capable unit. So no good for SACD ripping.
