1. Can the drivers for the Lynx AES-16 be loaded when running with the Windows Server operating system? For non-native USB DAC's is the Lynx still a good option or would a USB-->SPDIF adapter be a better choice when using the Windows Server operating system + Audiophile Optimizer?
 2. I see there are more choices now than a year or so ago when I built my latest media PC with Lynx AES-16 instead the Lynx 2B I had in my last PC. Back then the only option was custom from Redco or other "pro audio" cable companies.

What is your personal favorite copmmercially available cable so far?

Is there a list somewhere of all the choices that are currently available?
 3. Chris,

Which company makes the cables you are referring to?
 4. Chris,

Whatever happened to your cable testing that was going on? Did you ever settle on a definitive solution for the AES/EBU cable for Lynx AES-16?
 5. I would suggest contacting Chris at Redco Audio do discuss exactly what you want. I'm sure they can make anything that it possible and your needs could certainly be met.
 6. You can purchase a custom HD-26 to single AES/EBU cable from Redco Audio. I have purchased (3) different custom Lynx cables from them and their workmanship is excellent and prices are reasonable.

http://www.redco.com/

7. Chris,

Could you post some suggestions on "stripping down windows" as you mentioned you did for the PC you built? This is something I haven't really tackled yet but would like to try.
 8. My recommendation is to order a custom HD26 to AES/EBU cable from Redco Audio. It will cost less (under $40) and should sound better as it won't have all the extra unused connectors on it. http://www.redco.com
 9. Chris,

What is the reason that the older driver and firmware are recommended for the AES16? What is it about the newer version(s) that make them less desireable?
 10. Chris,

Any update on this cable?

BTW, I have been using custom cables from Redco Audio with a Lynx 2B (soon to be replaced by an AES-16 + MSB Platinum DAC). Their quality is excellent and prices affordable (not that the affordable price is really an important criteria at this level of equipment).
