  1. Now I have Win 7 JR Media Center FLAC's Choice to ADM 9-T's or Benchmark DAC1 and Dynaudio BM6A's What do you think, to use on desk or small room...never had balanced inputs but the ADM's look so cool! Steve sweltering in Atlanta
  2. Need some advice. New to MAC's, think it time to get a mini. Without dual booting into Win is there anyway to play FLAC's in iTunes?
  3. I use A5's, love them and my Keces DA-151. I had read much about it in all mags and websites. All my content is 16/44 so it is USB beautiful and can be found on ebay. Look at the CASH list here Chris has put together also Cheers Steve
  4. I have a T42 love it on XP SP3 w ASIO JR Media Center and love it. Have been considering new laptop but retroing OS to XP primarily to avoid the coming failure of T42. Would love a mac mini running XP. Decisions decisions Under water in ATL If you have not listened www.kexp.org. Streams at 1.44
  5. Can Networked Media Tanks (what a name:) output via USB to input to DAC? Thanks in advance
  6. Coming soon http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/12/03/asus-eee-box-b204-b206-grows-an-hdmi-port-handles-high-def-ma/ JR Media Center>Keces USB DAC.Audio Engine A5's desktop Listening room am still on hold with mac mini > AVI's Regards all, have to say this is the most entertaining site on the internet today, just hit 100,000 tunes lossless and growing
  7. So am considering the ADM 9.1 powered solution with Mac Mini source, want to put a new 1080 LCD or Plasma as centerpiece and second input to ADM's. As all AV sources now are 5.1 where does the center channel information get "mixed down" into a 2.1 loudspeaker solution? Thanks in advance Steve
  8. That would be my guess as well. Wish I has an SSD option with no internal HD, just enough memory for OS and some apps, would be quieter and cooler. My first Mac wish me luck. Going to get iTouch as well for remote. Thanks again
  9. I am going to buy a new mac mini. Is either of the standard HDs quieter than the other Steve
  10. Only had a few months. Realized if I listened to all the discussion here on comparisons I would miss out on music and never buy. Service and quality are first rate, that is high on my personal list and all discussions on this unit were stellar. Steve
  11. And if you have not hear KEXP streams at 1411 mms://media-wm.cac.washington.edu/KEXP-Uncompressed If you have the bandwidth, just drop this url into J River and listen Cheers from sunny Atlanta
  12. It made an immediate and significant impact on my system as well. As for Windows Audio Services, I have been testing with it on and off. Works fine either way just seems to give me software volume control when on which I do not need or want so am leaving off, for now. Cheers
  13. I have been tweaking with Windows since the beginning, unfortunately, now am stuck with it! Thanks so much for the reply. I am salivating over one of these new mac minis but have two daughters getting ready for college and wife promised they can go to their choice of schools and not the state one's we we subjected to. 401k and IRA are sinking fast in the sunset ...so is life! The Black Viper site is very comprehensive to say the least, I would also recommend anyone to look at http://www.moozek.com/2008/08/21/definite-guide-to-windows-xp-tweaking-for-audio/ The tweaks I found here were very effective in over all windows performance which can only help audio. I wrestle everyday wanting to tweek more but am done! Cheers i truly enjoy following the plight of the computer audiophile on this site Steve XP Thinkpad (still comparing Foobar and JR Media - ASIO) - Keces DA-151 - Richard Lee Audio pre - Audioengine A5's www.radioparadise.com
  14. Markr, Should I stop this service in XP when using ASIO4ALL. Just installed and am using with JR Media Jukebox no issues, is the windows service than just taking up resources? Steve
