  1. No Chris, you will be going further, just via the hard route. People like you should face consequences when they do these types of things. It is cowardly and you should know that.
  2. Chris, this is just excuses. You know exactly what you were trying to do. It was wrong. If you don't care to have me, or anyone else, participate here, that is absolutely your call, but doing this is pretty small. You need to take the whole thing down. I tried to communicate with you privately about it, it is never my intention to take anything like this public. You chose otherwise. You were trying to go after me. It needs to be remedied.
  3. What a pile of crap, Chris. You haven't taken anything down, you have simply tried to redirect and actually amplify the harm you are attempting to cause. It will have consequences. I don't believe Your Audiophile Style LLC can handle this, but it's your call. I tried to deal with you on this by private message. That you chose not to deal with this man to man says a lot about you. You are trying to go after someone whose views you don't care for professionally. That is not what a forum like this is all about (ok, I know what it is about - you trying to carve out a living for yourself), or should be. It says a lot about your character - it steps way over the line. By the way, you are assuming an association there that may not prove true - again amplifying your damages. All the best. You're going to need it. You are becoming more like the Hoffman board every day.
  4. The whole 'schlong' things must get a bit creepy for you, right?
  5. Relax and don't take yourself so seriously. And I never mentioned anything - not a single word - about deadheads 'trading' music. That is just a flat out lie.
  6. If you aren't knowledgeable about torrents, I would consider that a good thing. I see torrents now at 700-800 kbps so it is not all that slow. And torrents are a bit past tense these days, it is easy to find sites - usually blog type sites - with plenty - and I mean mucho plenty - his res material to download at much faster speeds. I could have downloaded all three Dream Theater 24/96 releases last week a day after they were available (I didn't, I paid for them), and I can find in minutes the entire ZZ Top, Smiths, Doors and tons of others - all on meekly hidden sites, usually Russian, that won't come up on Google but are nonetheless relatively easy to find. It pisses me off. I happily pay for my hi-res, because I know that if I don't, I am partly to blame if labels scale back on hi-res or look to copy protect it. The Van Halen is actually one of the harder ones to find illegally for some reason, so knowing that and seeing a newbie without much in posts under his belt (and who seems to have gone silent quickly), I would take the comment seriously, and it just isn't appropriate either way.
  7. You are showing your age now. DISTASTEFUL COMMENT REMOVED BY EDITOR.
  8. Now we get very far off topic, and I apologize for my part in that, but I must point out that 'squishy' morality is one of the problems in the world today - there is a huge difference between tolerance and accepting simply unacceptable behavior. There are, and need to be, some norms of acceptable behavior in the world, and all too often we mistake tolerance of others views and cultures, with lowering the norms as to ethical and moral behaviors. The more we lower the bar on what is ethical or acceptable, the more we are part of the problem in the global society. Any way you slice it, stealing music is wrong, and there is nothing 'squishy' about that. There is no way anyone can cite variability of ethical norms, or even loopholes in laws or lack of developed jurisprudence in a jurisdiction, as a rationalization for stealing.
  9. Stealing is a moral absolute in every country in the world. I don't care to argue this with the argumentatives.
  10. Thanks, you are absolutely right of course. The notion that one cannot torrent a file as big as the Complete Dead is just plain stupid and comes from a complete lack of knowledge of how this works. All you do is break up the torrent into manageable chunks, and you are good to go. The OP was not being sarcastic at all. He was advocating illegal downloading to get around what he perceived of as the high cost of buying this set. That is WRONG, and the people who defend it are just as wrong. Unfortunately, like The Clash thread, you get these numbnuts ruining what should be a discussion of the music.
  11. LOL. If there is any 'consensus' among recording engineers it is for 24/192 by some margin, and among a whole lot of music lovers also - myself included. Good 24/192 is much more open and 'spacious' to me than DSD so far.
  12. Why do you feel a compulsion to argue this? It is patently obvious to anyone other than an argumentative person.
  13. Didn't read at all like sarcasm, but even if it was, it was just plain dumb. Other dummies will start searching for free torrents as they see it. Just the same as suggesting on a public forum that if you can't afford a Porsche, just steal one.
  14. This type of comment should never be published in a public forum. Pure stupidity.
