  1. Have you managed DSD playback using the 4.1.1 drivers for DICE? It seems that, using Jriver, I am not able anymore to playback DSD either via wasapi or ASIO
  2. Actually, I asked Adam on that around a month ago, a bit short after he said that v1.7.2 is being tested internally. To be honest, its not that I am having an issue that would require this update to be solved, but still I am a but curious on the details. So, If you Adam are still monitoring this thread (or anyone from Mytek for that part), I for one would greatly appreciate any details or sneak-peeks you can offer.
  3. As a matter of fact, I have a similar set-up with a Mytek fed via FW from my PC and a TD126MKII with an AT150MLX cartdridge. My intention was never to digitalise my LP collection, as it is rather small anyway. Rather, I prefer to collect some specific vinyls and listen to them via the turntable whenever I feel like. Keep in mind that a turntable is a much more involving "sport" than simply using a DAC.You'll need to learn how to properly set it up, learn how to select used vinyls (assuming you want to buy new ones) etc. . Is it worth it? Well to me yes. Is the sound quality of the TT better than the Mytek....In absolute terms, with my equipment, no. But owning and using a TT is a long journey in itself.
  4. Hi Adam, any news on this 1.7.2 firmware? It seems things started to get awfully quite in this thread for some time now....

    Emotiva?

Hi Paul, as I've mentioned in another thread, I own an XPA-3 and USP-1 and used to own a UMC-1. In general, I'll agree with everybody here in terms of price/quality. I do always suggest though to potential buyes to first give a thorough look into emotiva's forum so that they can get informed on any short-comings, compatibility issues etc as, to their merit, they keep a very transparent and objective forum. From my experience, my XPA-3 is driving my MA RX-6 and RX-Center without any hastle. As far as the USP-1 goes, I will upgrade it at some point in the future but that is only natural, as when I bought it I knew that at some point I'll need a better stereo pre-amp. On the UMC-1....well..what can I say...Interesting AV pre-amp but the implementation could be better. On their DAC, I cannot really say since I don't own it and have not heard it.
  6. In terms of FW connectivity in Win7 64 bit, I am using this card from Sonnet along with this cable from Oyaide. Both are reasonably priced if you look a bit around.
  7. Hi Alberto, even though I do not use Foobar for playback, I would expect that you will need to have the DAC connected to your PC in order to configure the software the way you want.
  8. Hi Adam. Any news on that? Also, a changelist would be greatly appreciated. Thanks already.
  9. Hi Aaron, being an owner of various Emotiva products myself (not the DAC unfortunately) I just have one word of advice: Take the time to read through their forum and check for yourself potential problems or shortcomings that the product might have. It is then up to you to decide whether you can live with that product or not. A link to their forum for DACs can be found here
  10. Just received mine today and I just want to say: Thank you Michal and your team in Mytek for making this DAC. This is music.
  11. Silly question, but why would you want to add an external clock in the loop if that clock is not the one used also in your PC? To my understanding, you can have a benefit when using such a clock if for example you are using a SPDIF out using that same clock, no?
