  1. Hi Winnie, (Peter, When would Roon be able to do Tidal Max? (Audio)
  2. Hi Wklie, I found a black switch at the edge of the LUMIN circuit board in the L2. Is this a reset switch you toggle when the unit power is on? I tried to remove the SSDs to go into zero configuration and found the message “HDD not found”. Does that means I need to toggle this switch with the power on, to reset the L2 into zero configuration? (Audio)
  3. I already shared my experience with the U2. What questions do you still have? Ethernet fiber optics is the most significant feature. (Audio)
  4. Samsung 870 EVO 4TB are recommended. The SSDs should be installed in pairs. In terms of cost savings, it is recommended that you buy the L2 with zero TB. You do your SSD installation as it seems to be the expectation of Lumin as well. There is easy access to the internals by removing 3 Torx screws and sliding off the cover. There are another 8 Torx screws to handle for each SSD mounting plate. Total of 16 for the dual SSD configuration. (Audio)
  5. I discovered my Lumin X1 had the phase set as “inverted” all this time. Returning it to normal is actually blurring the music. 😂. Switching back to “inverted” the silent gaps reappears across the soundstage and every instrument / vocals reclaimed it rightful place. When I do a Audyssey Calibration with the MultEQ-X, it reports that my front speakers are out of phase. 😂 Maybe that’s why it needed the inverted phase from the source. (Audio)
  6. Actually, mp3tag has an “auto fill search function” that can search the web for that particular album and fill up all the fields. It even display all the version/ release year of that album for you to select the one that is appropriate. Found the function by accident when I got SACD DSD files to tag. (Audio)
  7. I got a QNAP TS-1685 too. I coupled it to a QNAP TL-D1600S for backup. (Audio)
  8. Nope. Tape is more venerable than HDD. The best and most economic backup is dual NAS. If you are on QNAP, you could use QNAP HBS3 (Free Software) Synchronizing the 2 NAS once a week. (Audio)
  9. Sorry to hear of the unfortunate incident. I came from old school so cloud storage is probably out of the question. I ripped all my Blu-Rays. How?? 🙂
  10. This is because this RAID0 library runs on my main AMD 32-core music server.... the aim is to obtain the best throughput possible so it is obvious I have to do RAID0. This library is being mirrored to another standby Intel 18-core Xeon music server (My Roon server) and backups can be found on 2 separate NAS within the network. I also have a copy of my music library in my main desktop PC. If my RAID0 failed................there are 4 backups to restore it. RAID0 it is!! (Audio)
  11. Thanks for your feedback. My current music server is running a 8 X 1TB SSD RAID0 which is why I should buy a zero TB L2. They way I see it, I would be only using the L2 as a switch. I am running completely optical in my 10GB network. If the L2 sounds good then I will try it out with spare SSDs to see if it could sounds better than my music server. I am currently using Lumin U2, X1 and my USB DAC is an Ayre QX-5. (Audio)
  12. As long as the firmware lead can confirm there is nothing in the software to prohibit DIY installation of SSD that I am game to go try one unit of L2. Thanks Peter for your feedback. (Audio)
  13. To Peter (aka wklie) There is currently no dedicated manual for L2. Is it possible to buy a Zero TB L2 and we upgrade it later by adding in our own SSD. (Audio) [email protected]
  14. Wow!! Secret command huh? (Audio) Is there one to show bit rate?? (Hint hint)
  15. Sorry, but we music lovers in Singapore are still waiting for years to sign up with Qobuz. Your server did a remarkable job rejecting all our attempts to subscribe to your service all these years. Great job! When will Qobuz be available in Singapore? (Audio)
