  1. OK, thanks - none of the pictures I've seen posted so far had obvious markings.
  2. One question I have not seen addressed - are they stereo or mono, is there a Left and Right airpod (or is stereo now a dead format)?
  3. I've tried both but only managed to get the HiFiBerry working properly (with Volumio). The Wolfson was less successful as the pogo connector did not seem to connect reliably for me and I have yet to replace it with a conventional connector. Like 4est, I have also successfully tried it directly into my Buffalo DAC. All were using the analogue output.
  4. Thanks guys, I have gone with Plan B (two new drives) and am now copying all my music files over.
  5. Thanks Eloise I guess I thought what I wanted to do would be a not uncommon scenario and would be simple. Silly me! OK, two new drives it is then...
  6. I have just bought my first NAS - a Synology DS213j - and I currently have all of my music files on a single 2TB drive. Initially I thought I would be able to install this drive into the NAS and then add a new 2TB and create a Raid 1 mirrored pair. However after reading all the documentation I am unclear if this is possible. Does anyone know if this can be done? Or will I need to buy 2 new drives, create a Raid 1 pair and simply copy all the files across?
  7. You were right Ted - the issue was tags. While the JRiver application itself did not worry about 'Album Artist' being missing it looks like Gizmo is a bit more fussy. Now all I need to do is get RDP access to Win2012 working so I can do all the tags from the comfort of my listening chair...
  8. Thanks Ted, but I am still not sure how tagging could be the issue. It seems to be purely a client issue as all is OK on the server side. Anyway, as it is not a known issue I will go back and check my tagging more thoroughly, maybe look for anomalies with 'Artist' and 'Album Artist'...
  9. B This is one example using Gizmo on my WinXP PC. The first image shows the 'Artist' view for The Beatles and the second shows the 'Genre' view (HD for these because they were from the USB version). All these albums and all the rest are shown together under the JRiver 'Artist' view on the server PC. If the issue was to do with tags then would that suggest Gizmo is doing someting different with them?
  10. I have tried asking this question over on the JRiver forum but there was no response so I hope someone here might be able to point me in the right direction. When I use Gizmo on a browser to select and play albums I find that many are not shown under the 'Artist' view but can be found under other views. It does not seem to matter what device I use (Android, WinXP or Win 7) they all have the same albums missing. They do display as expected on the server PC (Win2012) under JRiver 17. Creating a new library does not help, the same items are missing. Could there be a different database serving Gizmo that needs to be fixed?
  11. I too would like to add my thanks to tedb for the heads up on his CAPS V2+. Since building my own as per his recipe (DN2800MT, Windows 8, mSATA SSD, Fidelizer and JRiver) I can confirm that it is very fine sounding indeed and a big improvement. There is plenty of (new) detail to be discovered in even the most familiar music yet it is all very easy and relaxing to listen to. The one thing I have not tried is the SOTM, partly because it would near double the cost and also because it is less than clear it could add anything (my DAC is being fed from an ExaU2I which I believe is already well isolated). Has anybody tried a SOTM in front of the ExaU2I?
