Help connecting my Simaudio gear please
E8ArmyDiver replied to RoseKloud666's topic in General Forum
PC>DAC via USB cable>220i via analog output(RCA Stereo cable). In order to also run the headphone amp you will need an RCA Splitter. This is a 1 plug in/2 analog device(integrated amp/headphone amp)out adapter. You will also need another pair of RCA Stereo cables(Interconnects). -
Have a look at the Silverline Audio Minuet Supreme's.Very small speakers with a BIG sound...

Audiophile & Compact active speakers: which models
E8ArmyDiver replied to rootsrider's topic in Headphones & Speakers
As it appears you are in the UK I recommend you seek out the Quad "L" line of active speakers(model 9 is the smallest, then model 11 & 12).Highly recommended, reviewed & Very musical speakers. -
Using solid core mains wire for speaker cables
E8ArmyDiver replied to souptin's topic in Headphones & Speakers
I am a Certified Journeyman Electrician in several states & Certified Master Electrician in Wa.State. The problem with using common solid core wire such as you mention is impurities in the copper & becomes highly evident(especially in the treble frequencies) the more resolving your system is.So while this type of wire is fine as a quick fix you are likely to notice a discernable difference when you finally go back to specialty cables. -
Wow,I can't believe this question.I have a unique job that requires I move from City to City across the Western/S.Western USA(driving my personal vehicle)every 2-6 months, during which time the company I work for houses me in extended stay hotels(Marriott,Red Roof,Hampton etc...) While I have since upgraded considerably I started out with a pair of AudioEngine "A2"speakers driven directly from my Asus laptop. The "A2"is only 6"tall x 4" wide x 5.25"deep & weighs about 7 lbs.for the pair. They are not very expensive(around $200.00) & have a wonderfully rich sound with good sound staging & imaging.Check them out & I think you'll be very satisfied with what you find.Happy listening...

Sonus Faber "Toy Monitors" here.Unreal sound staging & imaging, even when placed desktop & to die for midrange!
