  1. From the famous/infamous Silicon Valley. It certainly looks like a nice system, but I'd want to audition it before purchasing. And since I've already got the Icon-2, I'd only be interested in the speakers. But please keep the suggestions coming. Especially the passive speaker suggestions. Thanks again!
  2. I'm looking for suggestions for some smallish bookshelf speakers for two purposes. Firstly, it'll be part of a traveling system for when my wife and I go to a cabin or some vacation destination. I won't be flying with it but the entire package should fit in a small to medium duffle or similar sized bag. The other purpose would be to use them as my cubicle speaker system at work when not traveling. Now some background. First off, I'm used to reasonably high end equipment, though some of it is old. As examples, I have Paradigm and B&W speakers in my home theatre system powered by a fairly large Marantz surround sound receiver. My living room speakers are older Definitive Technology. And my garage speakers are vintage JBL L-100 Century's. At work, I listen almost exclusively to my vintage Stax earspeakers (SR-5's with an SRD-6 adapter), and these are powered by a Nuforce Icon-2. And that's what I hope to be the heart of my system. As I'm figuring it now, I'm going to use the Icon-2 to power passive speakers (more choices) and use an iDo to extract the raw digital from an iPod. All I need is some good speakers. If they're good enough, I don't think I'd need a subwoofer (it would have to be small anyway). But if there was a sub woofer that was small enough and I could then go smaller on the main speakers, I might consider that route as well. And I'm hoping that I can audition any speakers I'm considering. I'd simply take my iPod, the iDo, and the Icon-2 and use them to power what I'm considering. All suggestions appreciated! Thanks!
