Most up-sampling DACs which based built-in ASRC chip are bad sound quality. ASRC is low cost and low know-how jitter attenuation design, high quality PLL is really best but difficult to design. A few SRC is good such as solo MIDI instrument, MIDI instrument sound cold and stiff, SRC processing will soften it and make sound warmth and nature. Most SRC sound feeling sick when playback complex music such as usher yeap! or nightwish I want my tears back. Asynchronous source fs SRC change music waveform is the key why SRC sound bad. More details here : xilinx application note xapp1014. If SRC necessary, Synchronous source or 2^n source fs SRC is the future. Good computer SRC better than any ASRC Chips, iZotope and HQPlayer algorithm very good in my opinion. Computer has more resource and more time for processing more tap digital filter and optimize interpolation formula. Enjoy!
