  1. So how should I connect the Oppo/Integra to HTPC if optical is not optimal? I'm not sure if it is worth the hassle unless you guys think I will get a noticeable difference in the soundstage?
  2. Ladies, Here's my 2 channel setup currently. JRiver 19 on custom fanless HTPC with SSD. FLAC sent via on-board SPDIF from PC to Integra DHC 80.3. MC402 amplifies B&W 802D's. JRemote and Roomie control everything flawlessly. My BD player is an Oppo BDP-95. I've never used its DAC because I consider the Integra to be more than capable. What I wanna know is can I do better? One stipulation, I must be able to continue using JRiver (JRemote). Should I attempt to use Oppo or my Integra with DLNA and stream to them from JRiver? Would USB not be an option with JRiver? What sounds like the best option sonically? Thanks, John
  3. Guys, I realize I'm weird and want the best of both worlds. The computer audiophile guys recommend setting JRiver up with WASAPI event style for bit perfect 2 channel audio. Problem is when you through a BD in there, your audio is not bit streamed for HD audio. Is there an easy to do this with a HTPC next to physically changing the output in JRiver every time I want to do something different? Thanks. John
  4. I was able to compare CDDA, ALAC and FLAC versions of the same song and here's my ear's opinion. The CDDA sounds best from my Oppp BDP-95. Honestly can't tell much difference between FLAC (PC > Integra) and ALAC (PC > ATV3). So I'm not sure what to do. I hate the fact that I feel hostage to Apple. But they are by far the slickest setup I've found. That's my two cents. John
  5. Here's my setup. Desktop PC with 300 GB mp3 & ALAC running Win 7 with iTunes. (Study) >Cat 5e to Router>Apple TV3 Apple TV3 (Listening room/Theater) > HDMI into Integra DAC. Integra DHC-80.3 (Listening room/Theater) Here's what I want. Network access to audio, video, pictures for family. Bit perfect audio Remote integration for control, ratings manipulation, etc. (Ipad, etc) I am willing to convert everything back to FLAC if I absolutely have to. I love the simplicity of the Apple design. I have downloaded JRMC and am impressed, I just need a push on which way to go. I have purchased 2 2GB Seagate HDD with the thought of either external enclosure or NAS. Budget $500-$750. Thanks, John
