  1. I have been a collector of CD's for many years but they were starting to collect dust. I am in the process of ripping them to my computer. With the help of reviews and how to's both here and other sites I purchased DbPoweramp to do this. I am ripping to FLAC (no compression), AIFF and MP3 (160). I have the process started to purchase a NAS (likely Synology 412+) with WD enterprise drives to store my collection. The upside is I can sell the wife on this as I also can use it for my business files (work from home). I am on a Win7 based system for my work and home computer equipment. The computer systems are fast and lots of ram as they are cad stations. The stereo equipment is about 12 yr old but they were upper end Yamaha components when purchased so it is still quite functional with Paradigm speakers. I was hoping to get some feedback from the people here on the best way to proceed so when I purchase components I only have to do it once and I can build with a plan in mind. Questions: 1) What will be the preferred software to organize my music library (about 1500 CD's & possible DVD in the future) on a Win 7 based system with NAS. I envision a Sonos set-up to get the collection from my computer (in my office) to my stereo (in my living room) and basement (future reference). My intention is to purchase an MP3 player (Apple Ipod Classic?) to use the collection in the truck. 2) What is the best delivery method to get the music from the NAS to the stereo and other points. Is the SONOS system as good as it gets for the money paid? The basement is ripped apart right now so running ethernet cables around the house is an option. 3) I am considering a Dragonfly dac and a set of bookshelf speakers for office use. Is there a less expensive way to go while maintaining decent quality sound for listening while I work? Thanks from a newbie. Rob
