  1. Todd, I completely agree with everything that cmarin said. It is very easy and a big enough upgrade that it is worthwhile. You have the HD Plex so you have nothing to loose by giving it a try.
  2. That is currently pretty much my exact configuration except I use Cat7. I doubt that makes any difference though. That configuration should work perfectly for you.
  3. My fiber is very simple. Currently my NAS --> 2 ft Monoprice Cat7 --> HP 1410-8G switch --> 1 ft Monoprice Cat7 -- TP Link M C200CM --> 25 meter Multimode 62.5/125 Fiber patch --> TP Link M C200CM --> 2.5 ft Audioquest Cinnamon --> NUC. This was a nice upgrade for less than $150. I would highly recommend a fiber run for those that have a file server that is far away from your NAS. I currently have a TP-Link TL-SG3210 and SFP on order sot this will eliminate one short run of Cat7 and I want to learn about managed switches.
  4. I just wanted to pipe in. I got my HD Plex LPS about 2 weeks ago. I am using it to power my NUC (in a fanless case), My SSD separately, and my TP Link (fiber to ethernet) media converter. Everything that I needed to hook all of this up was included with the power supply. Powering the SSD had a huge impact and was really easy. What a fantastic purchase! I now have no SMPS in my system and I pulled a dedicated 20 amp circuit using a good Hubble hospital grade plug. I have completely black backgrounds and improved dynamics. The quality of your power really does matter! If you are on the fence, just buy this. It is worth every penny!
  5. I just switched my main music server from Mac and Audirvana to Windows and J-River so I could use this awesome app. This app makes listening to music even more of a pleasure than it already is. As a bonus I think my sudo C.A.P.S. has better sound quality too!
  6. I have more dropouts since I installed Xcode. I Used to get one every one or two hours. Now I get one every 5 to 10 minutes.
  7. The link that I used to get 1.3.9.10.9 is no longer working. It is downloading 1.3.9.10.8 now. I did eventually end up getting a drop out after about 5 hours of listening.
  8. I noticed earlier this evening that there is a version 1.3.9.10.9 available. I used the link for version 1.3.9.10.8 that was posted earlier in this thread but I changed the last number in the link from an 8 to a 9 and it downloaded. I installed it and the "about" screen shows 1.3.9.10.9 as the version number. I've been listening for a couple hours now with no drop outs. This is the longest I have ever gone without a dropout on any of the other 1.3.9.10 versions. I'll keep listening with crossed fingers.
  9. I am a new Aidrivana Plus user. I just set up my music server yesterday using 9.10 and was very frustrated because I kept getting dropouts. I thought it was my hardware. I'm temporarily using a Macbook Air (4Gb, 2.18 gHz dual core) with a fresh Mountain Lion install optimized for audio. I found this thread and and decided to try 9.9. 9.9 is working great with no dropouts. I have had it running continuously for about 12 hours now and everything is working great. I do notice a slight sound quality downgrade but I would rather have this than the dropouts.
