  1. Seriously? My MacMini has been unresponsive lately, I'll check if this is the reason....!
  2. Thank you for this. I haven't tried it yet, but see it will go a long way towards satisfying my need to tinker. I'm also getting used to the AsQ sound, and agree there may be an improvement. I do like that I can save one (1) preset for one (1) pair of headphones on the selection wheel. I just wish I could right click the buttons to select filter parameters. Brault...
  3. The new Amarra sQ version 2 doesn't have nearly the flexibility of version 1. I doubt I'll use it at all, I really enjoyed the first version's adjustable Q and filter types, it was a lot of fun. What a letdown, I can't imagine why they made this change. Furthermore, after listening for about 5 minutes it started distorting like crazy, I shut it down and got a much clearer stream from my Deezer account. I fear I've been ripped off unless I can find a way to get the first version back. I just want to listen to music, not fight with flakey software!!!!
  4. Thanks for this John, I'm going to try it as soon as I get Amarra sQ authenticated (again) after moving to a new Mac (Yosemite on Mini). I've been trying to get iLok to authenticate the software for nearly a week now, am considering just buying another copy. iLok is really a poor match for Amarra to use, IMO. Brault...
  5. Not to mention Deezer, Songza, TuneIn, Rdio, Slacker, Jango, etc.
  6. I think Paul is right, the squeeze for the dollar will come from the ISP's and telecommunications companies, they are the ones in control of streaming and cloud services. Regarding mobile music, I believe it's here to stay, but the enthusiasm will fade over time, and those who can afford the space and gear will keep the "hi-fi" industry going. Look at the recent trend of HT enthusiasts starting to listen to music on their systems more than watching movies. Regarding musicians, they will continue to get shorted, as they always have. Today's opinions only, of course.
  7. Interesting perspective Jud, if he were still around would Apple take on DSD?
  8. At risk of OT..., do you know of a way I can revert to iTunes 10?
  9. Try the Column Browser under View as well, it's a good way to filter which songs you're working with, including using your own custom "Groupings". There's a CA iTunes 11 thread that's helpful in moving from iTunes 10.
  10. AS jhwalker recommended earlier, sort the songs by the "kind" field in iTunes to bring all the WAV's together for deleting (be sure to delete in iTunes, not Finder). I use the column feature in iTunes to limit the selection to an album (or composer, artist, etc.) so I can work on a few files at a time. Whatever you do, don't mess around with the files in Finder, it gets the iTunes library out of sync. (I learned this the hard way...)

Thanks for this very informative OT discussion with Paul et al helping out bluemark81. Now I can start a plan for fixing my messed up tags.

So we need a method of saving personalized filter settings that are DAC-specific AND source-specific?
  14. Composer in Column Browser has always worked in 11 for me, but I only use Column Browser mode. Not sure just what the new function is supposed to add, and I'm not going to risk my system by updating to it.
