  1. Thanks Paul! The Vortexbox solution looks perfect. From digging a bit deeper (thanks for the link), it seems to do exactly what I need. I'll load it up and report back once I give it a try. Hoping for as good as the Windows laptop.....better would be a bonus! Thanks!
  2. Hi, I'm quite new to computer audio, and I am looking for some suggestions/advice. I have a clean laptop with no OS installed that I can use as a music player/server. It is a dual core AMD with 2 GB RAM and a 250 GB HD. A little background. I have another laptop that I am currently using a Windows 7 laptop with Foobar and Fidelizer to output through USB. However, that is a "family" laptop that my wife uses, as well as the kids. So, needless to say, I don't get to use it very often. I have a Musical Fidelity v-link 192 and a DAC capable of 24/192. What I am looking for is to get this laptop up and running (possibly) with one of the free OS's that are available, and be able to output 24/192 as I have some HD Tracks purchases at that frequency. My issue is that this has to be done on a shoestring budget.... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
