  1. Audio_ELF, preamp input on REL is already occupied as I use my REL for dual configuration purpose. 1. HIFI - Here I use High LEvel Inputs with my stereo integrated amplifier and that is highly recommended by Rel to use this input. 2. Home Theatre - I use Lovel Level Input only in relation to A/V receiver that I also have in my system. best, d.
  2. Hiya there wgscott, thanks for your answer first! First a question to you which REL sub do you have? Second thing I still do not quite understand so let's clerify to be 100% correct. Now I have my REL B2 hooked to classic A/B integrated via Unbalanced High Level speaker inputs. Red is connected to R+, Yellow to L+, Black to R-. All ok here working perfectly. So let's go to CLASS D amplifiers and REL B2 sub which is discontinued design now. So you say if unbalanced high level inputs are used I can hook it up the same as on class A/B amplifiers? Red to R+, Yellow to L+, Black to R-. I'm also not completely sure what you mean with neutral speaker post? Is that any of the speaker - posts? Also not sure about your YES answer on my quoteing to figure 3 inside Belcanto guide. There is a difference with above statement as both RED and YELLOW wire has a capacitor in series and black is hooked to the GND of the amplifier or preamplifier if two Class D mono blocks are used. thanks for your clearifications. Best, D. EDIT: P.S. Maybe I got an idea. I need to figure out what kind of output my future Class D amplifier would have. If it is non-balanced then there is no problem so no modification of REL speakon cable is necessary. If it is balanced then a modification is needed in order that REL B2 will work correctly. Am I correct?
  3. Hello, as digital amplifiers are becoming more and more popular I'm also considering to switch from classic A/B transistor amplifier to Class D amplifier. I'm aware of this problem that REL has with older models of their subwoofers if connected through High Level Inputs on Class D amplifier. I found some recommendation and solutions also here. Also REL makes some cable for this but is way to expensive. I have a discontinued REL B2 subwoofer which is great and I would like to continue to use it also on my future Class D amplifiers. I read some suggestions and also find Belcanto's suggestion how to connect their amplifiers with High Level Inputs on some subwoofers (I think that Figure 3 represent a solution for REL subwoofers?!). But still I think I'm a little bit puzzled and with your help I hope we can solve this dilemma to verify how to properly modify the REL cable. thanks a lot for your feedback. best, d.
