  1. Sometimes it just takes time for us to apprentice an artist. My wife is a big Black Crowes fan. She west to see the Crowes when they were the opener for Tom Petty. She stayed for Tom and said it was a fantastic show. You never know.
  2. Newb questions @ the 20,000 foot level. It appears that the OS/Software package that gets loaded onto the SD Card is the same package for both the LMS and the Streamer? This package contains both the OS and the required Apps? Then use the settings to configure what services you want to use on the device? How do you load your music files onto the LMS? You setup a network share point and map to that from you PC and copy files? What controls playback? Use your PC browser to access the streamer? Use an Apple/Android device to access the streamer? Is there a corresponding Apple/Android App, or just use the browser? Looks like a pretty straight forward project. THX
  3. Yes, my Dell has plenty of USB ports, both 2.0 and 3.1 ports.
  4. Luxman for power and optical transport. I've recently become smitten by Luxman. Maybe just an entire Luxman stack. I like the higher end Yamaha gear as well. Aurender for digital files. Not sure what DAC or Turntable. Maybe some flavor of Klipsch Heritage series speakers, or KLH Model 5's. A nice PC with a good headphone stack would be nice. I'm a modest man with modest taste and modest ears. More of a Mopar muscle car guy than an Italian super-car guy. Although that Ford GT is quite sexy. It's not all about the price, it's about what I like and what appeals to me.
  5. I bought JRiver. I tired it a few years back but was so-so about it. I guess I didn't take the time to learn it. I l like it so far. I have ripped about 300 CDs and am in the process of cleaning up my NAS folders, which are a nightmare. I have a good 20 years worth of downloads to clean up and sort through and get tagged. Tagging bootleg live shows can be a lot of work. It will make for a good winter project. The best part to date, is just being able to go straight to a song I want to hear. No need to find the CD, or wade thru my spaghetti mess of NAS folders.
  6. What are some sources for an "audiophile grade" USB card for my PC? Anything in the $100 to $200 range that's worth buying? I run a cheap Dell desktop with Windows 10 if it matters. I swore I was not gonna go down this PC based audio hell hole, but it looks like it's pulling me in. I work in tech, so I don't like tech in my hobbies. I will admit though, using JRiver and having all my music easily accessible and sorted is pretty great, and truth be told, I do the bulk of my listening at my PC using headphones.
  7. I've been looking at the Aurender products. How do you like yours?
  8. I haven't been on this site in forever. Got a new Windows 10 based PC and need a good Windows based media player app. My rig is uber basic. Audioengine DAC via USB.. I have a decent collection of HD and FLAC files stored on a NAS. I'm a big fan of live music. I have a nice collection of "bootlegs", soundboards, etc. My last PC had JRiver V19. It was OK, it worked. Should I stick with JRiver or look elsewhere? Remember my needs are pretty simple, no streaming, no fancy hardware, just my DAC and my headphones. Thanks
  9. I did sell one title already on eBay, Aerosmith Toys in the Attic. I probably sold it to cheap, looks like that is bringing decent money. But I did all-right. Now I have PayPal money to play with...lol. Its been at last 5 years, probably closer to 8 since I sold anything on eBay. I have to say, it went pretty smoothly. It's came a long way since I last sold any items there. It's interesting how these platforms or sites change. take Craigslist, seems like it has jumped the shark where I live. I'll look into the Steve Hoffman forum. I have had great luck selling and buying via forums. Thank everyone.
  10. Thanks guys. Not an ebay fan, but I guess I'll give it a go.
  11. I'm getting a head start on spring cleaning. I have a small, very small DVD Audio collection. Thing is, I have no player. Is there any demand for this format in the used market? Thanks EDIT: TITLES: Allman Brother Band – Eat a Peach – SACD Aerosmith – Toys in the Attic – SACD Steely Dan – Gaucho –DTS Marvin Gaye – Collection – DVD Audio Alice Cooper – Billion Dollar Babies – DVD Audio Fleetwood Mac – Rumors – DVD Audio Frampton Comes Alive – DVD Audio Doors – LA Woman – DVD Audio Neil Young – Harvest – DVD Audio The Band – The Last Waltz – DVD Audio
  12. It's a 40 year old recording. Buy it, play it loud, tap your foot, dance if you want. It's a FANTASTIC show. Lots of gems on here. I bought the 16/44 FLAC files. They are just fine for what they are. Anyone know of a good live recording of Blinded By The Light?
