  1. Thanks for your reply. I had thought that the discussion of beta version was old, and that the beta features were already included in the current version. I followed the link you provided, downloaded the beta version and now INT is working! I don't know if I can tell the difference between INT and Audirvana Plus without INT but both of them are clearly better than Pure Music.
  2. Hi Damien, I LOVE Audirvana Plus. I just tried it for the first time last night. the only reason I switched from Pure Music is that PM started getting all buggy on me and crashing a lot. So I was not expecting any improvement in sound, just hoping for improved stability (which I got by the way). Auditioning the very first song, I was immediately sold. The sound is both more clear and more musical at the same time. I love it. I have one question. A couple commenters said integer mode should be supported on any USB DAC that does not have its own driver. The Aesthetix Pandora (Romulus) which I have connected to my Mac Mini 2010 (running OSX Lion) did not require any driver installation... it is fully plug and play. It is asychronous USB by the way. (According to their website: "Asynchronous transfer mode for USB input, licensed from Gordon Rankin / Wavelength Technologies.") One question: I checked the box for Integer Mode but the little INT indicator does not light. Are the commenters wrong?, am i doing something wrong?, did the USB install its own driver? If so, does Aesthetix need to update their driver? Any help appreciated! Sean
  3. I have had the Romulus (that's the Pandora with an added CD transport) for maybe 6 months now. I love it. I like the added detail compared to my prior M1 DAC (which is 1/10th the price by the way) and the tubes seem to keep it feeling very analog. HOWEVER: last night I tried Audirvana Plus for the first time. The only reason I tried it was because Pure Music started getting all buggy on me, crashing, taking a minute or two to start playing a song, hanging up and never playing a song etc etc. ANYWAY: WOW. The very first song I listened to ("Change" by Blind Melon) was an experience. I was shocked at how much better it sounded. Noticibly better soundstage, and sharper experience of the more subtle sounds. Since I was NOT expecting any improvement over Pure Music at all I am certain this was not just my imagination. So I'd like to echo the prior advice. First: get Audirvana Plus. Then go shopping for a DAC.
