  1. “Teralink ADuM4160 USB Isolator board Teralink ADuM4160 isolator board is breaks electrical connection between USB host and peripheral while allowing data to pass. Design is on Analog Devices ADuM4160 USB Isolator IC. and supports full/low speed USB 2.0 compatible operation and peripheral side power up to 600ma. Is very useful addition to any PC based test instrument, USB audio device, as well as any other USB application where elimination of ground loop or power line pickup is desire. Features of this Isolater: 1. Analog Devices ADuM4160 2. MJE15030 , BC548 NPN low noise linear voltage circuits 3. Solid polymer capacitors 4. this isolator board is needs voltage input positive DC8V - 15V Use your TeraDak U9VA power supply connect the ADuM4160 board, and ADum4160 connect the AQ DragonFly ,this connect way can work .because ADuM4160 board has 5VDC USB output to drive the AQ DragonFly. Other non-external DC inutput USB converter or USB DAC use this ADum4160 board, easy to upgrade your USB DC power. “ (I edited the description for AQ DragonFly) Teralink USB isolator board->full isolation from a computer!!! I tried Kimber Kable Silver USB Cable 1.0m from the main setup, a sound even more better. In this time I use (temporarily) inexpensive Logan WL366-0300 3.0m, in future will be I will take one more Kimber or AQ Diamond.

  3. My project for achievement of the maximum result of quality of sounding from a AQ DragonFly: TeraDak U9VA Linear Low noise Power Supply + Power Supply A&B Cardas pure copper DC cable 1.5ft + Teralink ADuM 4160 USB Isolator board + AudioQuest DragonFly + AudioQuest FLX-MINI/RCA Adaptor (Male 3.5mm to 2x Female RCA) + AudioQuest Panther 72DBS + Single Ended in triode Valve Amplifier E88CC TESLA NOS gold pin+2x 6P43P-E + 5C4S (1960year) + power cord T+A Power Four 2.0m (all) OS: XP-SP3+Fidelizer 2.1 + Real Time Priority for player + driver ASIO4ALL (224 samle), players: Foobar2000 ver.0.9.4.4f for 44.1kHz & Hi-Res+SACD image: Foobar 2000 ver.1.1.14a
  4. Can be useful to whom: I use AQ DF with the driver ASIO4ALL v2.10 result super!!!! and a guarantee of bits-perfect. OS: XP SP3. ASIO4ALL - Universal ASIO Driver
  5. Stereophile's review of the Dragonfly is up: AudioQuest DragonFly USB D/A converter | Stereophile.com about two versions AudioQuest DrafonFly: 1 version: the volume control offers 64 steps of less than 1dB to –60dB and then mute (–100dB); 2 version: used only 60 of those steps; "With the first sample of the DragonFly, a full-scale 24-bit signal actually clipped the bottom halves of the waveform with the computer's volume control set to its maximum, giving a THD+noise level of 3.8%. Backing off the control by one click (–0.17dB) reduced the THD to 2.14%, by a second click (–0.34dB) to 0.627%, and by a third click (–0.51dB) to 0.054%, below which the THD+N percentage plateaued. The second sample didn't clip with a 0dBFS signal at maximum volume, and the THD+N was 0.041% rather than 3.8%." AudioQuest DragonFly USB D/A converter Measurements | Stereophile.com interestingly still here it: "Basically, it looked as if the running change in production was to implement this suggestion of Rankin's, as the spectrum of the second DragonFly sample's output with a full-scale 1kHz signal at maximum volume was identical to that of the first sample's output set to –0.51dB" but, I not understand: in the first part of test to be said that at the first version is worse even with volume control down: ("third click (–0.51dB) to 0.054%, below which the THD+N percentage plateaued") ("The second sample didn't clip with a 0dBFS signal at maximum volume, and the THD+N was 0.041%") I wonder what version do I have and if there is a way to find out by the codes on the box since the device has no version markings of its own. Who know how as it to define?
  6. Hi, Maybe who know for best quality upgrade AudioQuest DragonFly how this compatibly with this: So, first: USB Isolator: Analog Devices ADuM4160 it is possible to use? like this: Teralink ADuM4160 USB Isolator board Second: If usb isolator works with AQ DF I can use power supply unit (ADuM4160 board has 5VDC USB output to drive the DragonFly). like this: TeraDak U9VA Linear Low noise Power Supply If usb isolator not compatibly with DF, I can use DC power supply with special USB-cable (in cable +5VDC from computer was disconnected). In power supply unit, in this case, DC output adjust =5VDC? How many VDC it is necessary for the best work DF?
