Yes, it is confusing. There seems to be a lot of discussion about using Airport (and maybe Apple TV) when the thread is about hi rez, wireless streaming.

You sound phenomenally well informed, but I thought the premise of this thread was hi rez, wireless streaming. And I thought the Apple product would not address this. Did I confuse something? It seemed to me I read in Stereophile or in the British hi fi press something about closed system, hi rez, wireless solutions just entering the market in early 2014. Maybe "Queststyle" was one? But my initial internet search didn't turn much up on that or on other turnkey systems I might have read about. (Micromega, perhaps?)

I think _Tiger_ will be a problem. Someone somewhere has done what I'd like to do. I am sure. I just have to find them.

Does anyone have the expertise to tell me if I can stream my music files from my legacy Mac to this home theater receiver via an ethernet cable? Its manual is not Mac friendly, and many of the software packages for the Mac require a newer OS than Tiger. There is obviously much I don't know about this area.... Thanks.
