  1. Oh, you're talking about a Raspberry Pi when you say ALLO....ok, I get it
  2. I'm not sure what an ALLO is ?, however I can show you pictures of it (the pics are from ebay). It's a Chinese dac with the 9038q2m and Amanero USB. Input support is as follows: Coaxial: 44.1K-192K 24BIT / DOP DSD64 Optical: 44.1K-192K 24BIT / DOP DSD64 USB: 44.1K-384K 32BIT / DSD64, DSD128, DSD256 I changed the op-amp because I prefer to use Burson op-amps, just a preference ever since I started using them in a Xonar Essence and an Omega Claro Halo that I had years ago (I have 4's, 5's and 6 Vivid in my posession). The Burson's replaced the Muse 02's that was using in the Xonar. I've never been very fond of the 55xx series op-amps so I generally replace them (this one came with the 5533DD). I have a separate card for galvanic isolation in my pc, I also use an Audioquest jitterbug. As for QC (Quality and Control), yes I agree with previous posters that the Chinese can get it wrong sometimes ( my first DAC that contained an AK4490 chip had left and right wired in reverse - my son was a 94D in the Army and has excellent soldering skills, I'm a former CTR and PC tech - but my eyes have gotten a little worn over the years). The new DAC had no QC issues at all.
  3. I bought one with Amanero USB, a 9038 Dac chip, and I replaced the opamp with a Burson Vivid 6! I paid under $200 for the thing and it's superb!!!! It does DSDx256 and I haven't had a problem out of it yet! Windows 10 readily recognized the drivers.
  4. It's been a while but I just saw this...you're backwards on your origin of Gospel....The father of Gospel music Thomas Dorsey was a blues and honkey-tonk musician -Precious Lord was originally rejected by the church for sounding "worldly". Now what some consider Gospel music is not gospel at all...it's a different classification called spirituals, freedom songs, and old Working songs (from slavery days).
  5. Most of today's rap has absolutely nothing to say. You ask any of the God-Fathers of Hip-hop and most of them will say that these artist today are just part of the production puppy mill. Many believe that the only ones saying anything happens to be the current crop of gospel rappers (think Lecrae, old school Cross Movement, ect). I actually believe rap has been around for a long time. Just listen to early George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic (and you can't say those guys weren't musical at all). Here's what the music industry boils down to now... its in a hook, and yes it's a rap song "Just because the whips done stopped - don't mean that you're free boy - pick them crops I mean hip that hop, make them tracks - say something that's gon' make that cash. Take that advance - but pay that back, you're under contract - you gotta come back Don't you know you're culture's for sale....ain't your culture for sale?" There's a lot of creativity out there, but the industry only want what will make a dollar. I love all genre's of music to include rap ( depending on what you're saying). I will say this about rap that says something, its causes you to think....isn't that where the word music comes from...muse...to think about? Most music today is a form of amusement or to get you to stop thinking. I like any music that makes me think whether if it's something you did during the performance, or if its something you said. P.S. i have experience with many forms of music, to include classical, choral, jazz, inspirational/gospel, as well as rap. As an aside - I part of making of a Boy Band (new competitive series) and they wondered a young man that was a church worship leader, if he could make the transition to pop/r&b......funny - that teacher needs to go back into history - because the R&B sound and a lot of Pop today came from ....gospel and blues.
  6. Compared MathAudio to Audyssey MultiEQ on a TX-NR807 receiver...MathAudio gave me better results every single time. Audyssey seemed to suck everything away (depth, height - just squished it), Audyssey also seemed to exaggerate the highs. MathAudio Room EQ used with the neutral setting was very clear, and improved the musical soundstage and imaging. I'm using the paid version of MathAudio as a VST plugin in JRiver. Now if they only did an 8 channel version !!!!!
  7. Ok then, that's got it - most of use are usually looking at questions that pertain to music or movies (Bluray). Games are a different matter altogether.
  8. If you tell us what you are using as a player, then we can answer your question. You don't set bitstreaming in Nvidia's software. You set it in your player software.
  9. Make the TV Guide view-able in Gizmo Android app. I could use it for everything then.
  10. Well, I'm going to say something that will more than likely get me flamed....IMHO - this is no different than the way Mac does things. They want their products to work their way. I can't use an Asus Essence STX-II with a Mac, there are other pieces of hardware that I can't use with a Mac. There are pieces of software that I can't use with a Mac unless I use Bootcamp and install a Windows OS...for that matter the same thing can be said of the Windows platform as well. Companies are allowed to do whatever they want and we as consumers either support them or reject them with our dollars. There are games that I loved in the past that I can no longer play on my Windows 7 system. There are printers that are all of a sudden obsolete because they don't work with the OS - why? It's a USB printer...It should work, but it doesn't. Am I a Jriver supporter...yes, due to its video capabilities and DSP, if they stopped, I'd have to find something else. If the older version still works as I'd like it to work...I wouldn't update. I even do this with my iPad...I won't update it if it will break something I really loved using. It's just that simple and plain IMHO.
  11. Better yet, use a network based TV tuner.
