I have looked at two threads: one started by me and another by someone else. They are both missing the attachments to the posts. Will these attachments be *found* in the fixes ??? Thanks, Mike -
doesn't work ??

Hi, I just saw this. It looks like an alternative build for constructing a silent Win7 server. This would be a full-feature machine. http://www.endpcnoise.com/cgi-bin/e/std/sku=h10_fanless_pc.html They include the SOtM USB card as a option. Mike

I just had to reboot my QB-9. The DAC registered the arriving file data by showing the data rate, but no sound. This happened on three different tracks. When I clicked Stop on foobar, the DAC registered the end by showing ---. Rebooting the computer didn't change it. But if I shut the computer down and then turned off the power to the QB-9 for 30 seconds, when I restarted everything it all worked. I know that the DAC is a computer, but I expected it to be more stable. Mike

I bought R8Brain Pro (for $130) last weekend. It does a three-pass run to up-sample a file. Very slow. From the speed, it should be more accurate than a real-time up-sample. I have listened to only one track that has been up-sampled. It was not immediately obvious to me that there was an improvement in the sound. But I will continue to try it out. I also did some OS optimizations recommended by the developer of cPlay, to reduce the system load on the CPU. I think that the change here was audible. Mike

Hi Harald, Do you think any of the "recommended Essentials" are available someplace as HiRez downloads?? My impression is that they are recommending 16/44 Redbook CDs. Mike

I used HiFi Tuning fuses. I don't know that they are different from Acme. Mike
-
okay, I'll be the one to ask: Which fuse is the spare? The outside fuse? Thanks, Mike
-
Hytechrednek, Thank You. I have been listening to the QB-9 with new HiFi Tuning fuses since Friday and the improvement is very clear. I didn't expect it. But the noise floor is lower. The music is clearer. The images are sharper. Overall, much more enjoyable. Mike

Different results upsampling with the same program

How about trying 88.2 up-sample ? That would be precisely double. Going from 44.1 to 48 might smear things because it takes too much computation from the up-sample software. I would expect 88.2 to sound better than 96, but you can let us know. Mike -

The album was Enrico Rava - New York Days. Gubemusic (Bugge Wesseltoft) has made a very quick response and says he has removed the Rava album from the website. But I really wanted the hiRez album, which does not exist. "Hello Michael. Im truly sorry you do experience this! This is a part of Ecm masterstudio series. Most of the series where withdrawn by Ecm but but got the message this one was a true HD file. Must be a misunderstanding. Will delete it immediately and have refunded your order. We do sell 24bit96 khz files! and they should be allright! best bugge wesseltoft / gubemusic." Oh well, try, try again. Mike -

I saw the recommendation from Atletico (below) and thought I would check it out. They are LOW res. I wasted $27.50 USD. "Try the norwegian company Gubemusic. Both flac and Hi-Rez available. https://www.gubemusic.com/ Try this young norwegian pop/rock/soul artist...Great! https://www.gubemusic.com/?album=19346 atletico" This is just another 16/44 that is sold as 24/96 Mike -
I have not received a hiRez replacement or an offer of a refund. They have admitted their mistake, but they are not fixing it. We are now approaching the first anniversary. Mike
