  1. Dream operator, There is no PM feature set up on this site. I am interested in getting this function working on my SIII. Can you post here?
  2. I use JRIver gizmo to stream my music files through my SIII to usb dac. If Samsung can't debug, then how do I backdated the software. I will definitely notify Samsung but I am not going to wait a year for it too work.
  3. Does anybody know what Samsung changed with there new software that now causes my SIII to NOT play to my HRT Streamer?. Everything worked fine last time I used it in the fall, but when I went back to using the Streamer this past weekend, I get no output from the DAC. My laptop played through the Streamer just fine. I am hoping there is just a setting on the SIII that needs to be changed.
  4. Does anyone know if the Dacs changed between the older Decco & music box and the newer Decco 65 and nova?
  5. I am looking to setup a Hifi in my office and want to compare the Peach Tree Audio Dac with the new Halide Dac HD. I have heard the Halide HD and love it smoothness. Very analog to my ears. Ii have not done a side by side with the Peach Tree and think the Decco amp may be a all in one choice that will replace my old Rotel making a better choice. Anyone ever AB these two?
  6. I just upgraded my PS to a linear unit as well and have noticed an improvement in sound. USB2 driver was the first thing I did after plugging in the unit since its the only way to use ASIO. I spoke with Mapleshade a week or so back and they mentioned their modded HiFace and digotal interconnects were a big improvement on the Gen 1 Dac Magic over using their Clearview USB cables. I thought this was mostly because the original DAC was not Asychcronous. It's nice to know that the power from USB also makes a difference.
  7. The Dac Magic+ does have XLR output. However, my McIntosh equipment is vintage and only has RCAs. I will look into the mini server as I am unfamiliar with how these operate. I am trying to adhere to the KISS principal.
  8. Unfortunately there is no room for a laptop over in the other room. Plus, there are times when I will be playing from the same music source to both systems. I just checked out the other rooms setup and there is barely enough room for the CA DAC. So the determination still remains whether Digital cable travels better than RCA analog.
  9. ATOMAC, Did you ever test out the M2tech reclocker versus your DM+ USB Async input? I was in the process of calling into Mapleshade to ask about their USB cable for my DM+ and they steered me toward their modded HiFace unit and cable. They said it was a big improvement over the original Dac Magic. So I am now looking to see if anyone can comment on the difference in SQ between the two. I am not sure they knew my DM was the newer version.
  10. I am looking to improve my signal path and am looking for suggestions on two options I am considering. My windows based laptop running JR MC17 is situated in my TV room and connects to my CA Dac Magic Plus through a generic USB connection. The toslink out goes to my home theater and is adequate for the music I play there. (mostly back ground dinner party stuff). My more serious listening is done in another room. Currently I have 25 foot a RCA cable running from the DM+ to the McIntosh system over there. I am considering two choices in my quest to improve SQ to the Mc. One is to improve the USB link with either a high end USB cable or a reclocker like Halide or M2tech. This still leaves me with a long std RCA run which I am sure is losing signal and catching RF interference along the way to the Mc. The other option is to move the DM+ Into the other room and using a usb to spdif bridge, run a 75 ohm digital cable between the two rooms. I would still have enough toslink to run back to the home theatre. I then can run some nice analog interconnects from DM+ to the Mc. This obviously requires more wire. One thing I am not sure about is if the digital cable will suffer degradation over the 25 feet run much like the RCA cable? Will impedance become an issue as well? can someone suggest a better option?
  11. Has anyone run into playback problems with Their DM+ ???? I have a situation going on right now where I can only get the DAC to ouput the signal via the RCA outputs using Blue tooth input. I have a second output via the Toslink and in that path, there is no sound. Weird thing is that sometimes, when I pull the Toslink connection, the red signal light is not on. When I power the unit off/on, the red light is back. But still no signal is reaching the HiFi. Anyway, what concerns me most is that ny computer is not recognizing the USB input. Computer playback is through regual desktop speakers. I tried changing out the USB cable but still nothing. I went backwards and swithed from USB 2.0 to USB 1.0 but the computer is still not seeing the DM+. With my luck I have discovered this isse right before the holiday entertaining season. Anybody have some recomendations for me?
  12. ARGH.... More issues. I was able to access the server outside of the LAN from my Droid using Gizmo. I am not able to access the Server when I am in MC18 and click the "test" button. Brilliant person that I am, I reconfigured the Port forwarding and now can not get either program to access the Server online. Is there someone here who can give me more detailed instructions for my ASUS and Jriver?
  13. OK so I did that and now can access the files through Options/Media Netork/WebGizmo. Clicking that opens my web browser which in turn displays similar to Gizmo on my droid when its withing the LAN. Problem is, the playlists are not the same as on my server. Do I have to import JR Library server onto my laptop?
  14. I am having difficulty setting up my router to open up port 52991 for J River to be able to access my Library while outside the LAN. I have an ASUS RTN66U which gives me several options for port forwarding. I can select either FTP, SMTP, DNS, HTTP and 4 others which I have no idea what they are. What is the correct protocol? Once complete, how do I configure my laptop in JRiver so it can get through the port and read my files?
  15. OK then I need to figure out how to get JRiver to encode my higher bitrates down to 320 for my ipod and then leave the lower bitrate mp3s alone.
