  1. Impressive read, many thanks! Seems like the HQ-Player technology is really leading innovation in terms of capabilites. I was always under the impression that behind the scenes a PCM converstion would take place which is not the case. Good stuff!
  2. When I read this discussion here, another question came to my mind. So if i play DSD Source material, that has been recorded as DSD as well, how will this work when playing it in HQ-Player? I do EQ-Processing for my headphone. Will this be done in the DSD-domain as well? Is this even mathematically possible? Hope this is not too much off-topic in this context here. Thanks

    HQ Player

Also upgraded to v5..... congrats @Miska for the release and thanks for your dedication and hard work.
  4. @MiskaNot sure where to find the posted measurements.
  5. I know that measurements is key validate the quality of a good DAC. Listening is more subjective. I am considering to audition the T&A DAC200. I currently own the RME ADI-2 FS with the AKM-Chip. Super happy with it but still curious what the DAC200 can bring. As my hardware can only upsample to DSD256, I wonder if it is worth considering the DAC200 in the first place. Any experience here from former RME-owners? Anyone ever made measurements side by side with DSD256 of the ADI-2 vs the DAC200? What is the subjective listening comparison/impressions? Thanks,

    HQ Player

Thanks Jussi What would be a setting for instantanous playback if I needed it. From Roon switching tracks between albums can be really tiring. My wish would be 1-2 seconds delay.

    HQ Player

Hello Jussi A log file is attached. I think the delay is shown on the bottom.... maybe it helps. If I had access to previous versions, I could check as I am pretty sure it never occurred like this before. The delay is actually more than 5 seconds for one of the fastest Macs currently available. Thanks, Mike HQPlayer4Desktop.log

    HQ Player

Thanks, I will check then and if needed create log files. Every DSP is turned off (Pipeline, EQ, Convolution). Was also thingking to revert to an earlier version, however i have deleted those.

    HQ Player

Hello Jussi I have an observation with the latest version of HQ Player using Apple Silicone. (For my Mac Studio). There is a significant delay for playback start. (at least 5 secs). This behaviour also happens when no upsampling is done at all. How could I narrow down the problem? Thanks, Mike
  10. So far, I predominanly use the RME ADI 2 FS for Headphone listening. I know it is subjective... but for you....does the Spring 3 offer more "inisight" of whats on the recording vs the RME? Thanks, Michael
  11. cool... yes confirmed... working... now just requested a trial license...
  12. For some reason, I cannot download the Mac version... Dropbox says file is deleted.

    HQ Player

Hi Jussi, that sounds amazing regarding AutoEQ... I am doing the same thing for my Focal Utopia. Do I understand correctly that HQPlayer can directly read the generate EQ-Text Files from AutoEQ? I have made very good experience with the generated Convolution Files from AutoEQ. I give this strategy a try to. Would you expect any audible difference, or do you see an advantage of using the EQ vs the Conv-Files?
  14. thanks... just realized that the 5600x does not have integrated GPU.... that will probably push me toward a Intel i5-10600 with similar thermal rating... unless I use the 5600x as a headless system and remove discrete GPU once the system is running. I really want to go as minimal as possible. Any insight of Intel 10600 vs 5600x and using headless linux vs not? Thanks, Mike
  15. Hello @Miska I am planning to build a HQPlayer Renderer with HQPlayer embedded. I am no linux expert so there seem to be different distributions people use. What linux distro could you recommend for the following rough build specs: - AMD 5600x - Gigybyte Board with B550 chipset, tbd - Wifi connection to network - 16 Gb Ram (should be enough?) My goal is to have efficient upsampling to DSD256 with ASDM7EC modulator without hickups. Or do you have a ready to go image that could be used as well? Thanks, Mike
