  1. I am new to this forum, and this is my first post. I have started to dabble in PC audio for the first time and the results seem excellent, but I am sure I am making mistakes. I ripped my approx 600 CDs using DBpoweramp into uncompressed .wav format, with accuraterip. Most ripped easily, but a few problems along the way. The files are stored on my pc laptop and occupy approx 350g, and backed up on separate storage. When I look at them as files they look orderly, but on WMP they look a little messy, with many in 'unknown'. Why is this so? I stream from the laptop via my wireless modem to a Pioneer N50, also wirelessly, and then take an optical output from the N50 to the DAC in an Esoteric K01, and then through to my preamp and system. Control via an N50 app on android phone at the moment. The K01 displays 44.1 when playing and the sound is extremely good, and in comparison with CD is quite hard to tell them apart. I am assuming the N50 is reclocking and perhaps I could get better sound direct to the K01 from a computer via USB asynchronously? Would this be a huge improvement? I understand there is a downside coupling a noisy computer hard wired USB to the DAC vs optical coupling? On a different tangent, I also made a batch of downsized mp3 Var at 160 using DBpoweramp, and stored them separately. These just appear as a long string of songs listed by song number and are almost impossible to navigate. Did I do this wrong? I use them in my car via an SDHC card and again, it is just a string of songs, starting with the track number. How do I do this better? I also want to use DBpoweramp to make compressed files for an iphone or ipod. What format should I use?
