  1. Can anyone make things easier for me. I am a non computer guy using HQPlayer. So you can understand my situation. Using late 2014 Mac mini with 3GHz Dual Core Intel i7 processor with 16GB, 1600MHz DDR3. Graphics Intel Iris 1536 MB. Mac OS Monterey. 500GB SSD I can only upsample upto DSD128. Normal files can do 256 also. But high resolution files like 192 and above cannot be played. Can anyone help me to tell what I can do IF POSSIBLE to upgrade my Mac mini. I think this 2014 Mac mini and later ones cannot be upgraded. Than can someone suggest BEST SETTINGS FOR ME WITH MY PRESENT MAC MINI, which will give me optimum performance. I am not enjoying music @DSD128 upsampled. In another city I have 8 core Mac Mini M1 which I can do upto DSD256 and it sounds much better. I don’t understand settings etc. So please let me have two best settings for MacMini M1 new one.( In Asia we get 8 core only.) And best settings for my present Mac mini i7 as described above. My system, Roon software on Roon Nucleus, SOTM connected via NAA, and HQPlayer on my Mac mini. All connected on same net work including Mac mini,
  2. I have a problem in registering my HQPlayer software. Actually I live in 2 places, rather two countries , India and Thailand. When I first purchased and Registered my HQPlayer 4 software on my Mac mini M1, I was in New Delhi India. Now I am in Bangkok Thailand and unable to register HQPlayer on my Mac mini here. Is there any restriction on using the same KEY at two places, BUT NOT AT THE SAME TIME USING BOTH. I will be using only one at a time. I am also using Roon with lifetime subscription. And I keep switching my subscription every time I travel between these two countries without any problem. Anyone who can help me out. Or may be Miska ?
  3. My entire music is on Roon Nucleus 2TB SSD or Tidal logged in Roon Nucleus. So I will have to use Roon to get my music files. All three Roon Nucleus, SOTM and Mac Mini are connected on same network via Ethernet. Can I connect HQPlayer to Roon Nucleus directly ignoring the SOTM. If so how ? I don’t think my streamer SOTM can work directly with both.
  4. OK Now that I have HQP and Mac Mini M1 , I want to know if I can connect HQP to my system. I have a Roon Nucleus with 2 TB SSD and streaming Tidal. Roon in connected to SOTM streamer on the net work via Ethernet . SOTM feeding the DAC via USB cable. HQP is on my Mac Mini M1 which is also connected on same net work via Ethernet cable. Now is it possible to connect HQP to SOTM using NAA or I will have to disconnect Roon first from SOTM. Other option could be to load Roon software on my Mac mini. Will appreciate advice on the best way to connect and if at all it is possible.
  5. Hi Louisiana, as per your advice I got the Mac Mini M1 yesterday. Also I paid and purchased HQPlayer 4 Desktop by using coupon code ( as I was using HQP 3 in past). I got a mail giving me License Key which looks very peculiar. Now I need your help to get it registered on my M1. I have already downloaded the HQPlayer from their website. When I go to HELP — REGISTER than I don’t find any window for putting the License key. please help me out to start using HQP thanks
  6. I will be using M1 exclusively for music with no other programs running. hope in that case 8 GB should be enough.
  7. Thanks for your comments confirming capabilities of Mac Mini M1 for MQplayer. Now I can go ahead buying M1 without any hesitation.
  8. Hi I am new with HQPlayer. I was using HQPlayer 3 for two years and than started using Roon for last 3 years. Now I have a Roon Nucleus + SOTM Ulltra Neo . My older Mac mini is not able to take the new HQPlayer 4 as I am trying to upgrade to HQPlayer 4. I am thinking of buying a newer Mac mini M1 with 256 SSD + 8GB Ram. I want to know if this M1 will be ok to handle HQPlayer and it’s upsampling capabilities.
