  1. the connectivity is sluggish and i don’t like the user interface of the sonos. Sometimes it works, other times not at all. im currently on my third sonos unit (all replaced free by Sonos) and im tired of replacing other equipment to get this to work properly. i have used Linksys, Apple, and netgear routers while using two different NAS setups to alleviate my connectivity problems. The actual audio quality was ok but the Sonos lacked the 24 bit processing. the Mac mini will replace the older HDPC setup, with hopes to replace the sonos. thanks, -Daylon
  2. [h=1]Im new to CA and need some help reconfiguring my system. Currently I am using a Sonos player to process music to a Peachtree Nova through a MIT AVt 1 Digital Interconnect. My experience with the Sonos player has been poor over the last year so I am looking for alternative solutions to play my digital music.[/h][h=1]I am considering buying a new Mac Mini to connect to my nova. I don’t think I can use the digital interconnect I already have so I need some suggestions for connectivity. [/h][h=1]Can I use a USB and go straight to the Nova as an output from the Mac mini? [/h][h=1]One problem I foresee with connectivity will be the dual use of the Mac mini as it will be used as a home theater device in 5.1 format and 2.0 for music. In the past I have used a HDPC hooked up to an Integra receiver (used like a HDMI hub) with two channel bypass to my mains which are powered by my Peachtree Nova(nice feature). the Sonos and turntable have been connected directly to my Nova. I’m concerned I may lose some quality in my two channel system if I run the Mac mini through the Integra receiver via HDMI. [/h][h=1]Is it possible to have dual audio output, Say HDMI and USB? [/h][h=1]Is HDMI a poor choice for audio?[/h][h=1]Any suggestions or alternatives would be a big help. [/h][h=1]Thank you,[/h][h=1]Daylon[/h][h=1]Sacramento, CA[/h]
