Most Authority's Having Jurisdiction require safety listings of all AC power cords and cables. The above cord is a poor and expensive choice. Just get some shielded Belden cable, and be done with it.

Benchmark Dac One vs Denafrips Pontus 2
Speedskater replied to gazou08's question in Questions and Answers
I would think the opposite. Is there a limitation with your Benchmark? -
ACROLINK 8N-A2080 Performante XLR/XLR Interconnect
Speedskater replied to Gato's topic in Analog Components
Looks like a reasonable construction. They should be OK. -
Long Term AC Power conditioning observations
Speedskater replied to One and a half's topic in General Forum
More likely the audible differences are due to a combination of the following: 1] AC power wired as a "Separately Derived System" 2] very low impedance 'Safety Ground/Protective Earth' circuit. 3] Isolation from noise currents in other circuits. 4] and maybe reduced Bill Whitlock "Conduit Transformer" effect noise. -
Long Term AC Power conditioning observations
Speedskater replied to One and a half's topic in General Forum
Almost no audio components take advantage of a balanced AC supply. Because power transformers are wound a asymmetrically with relationship to the component's chassis. In fact many well designed components take care to correctly connect their power transformer. -
Swapping interconnect cables without powering off components?
Speedskater replied to scolley's topic in General Forum
For power ON experiments, don't use your good loudspeakers. XLR interconnects will probably by OK. RCA interconnects maybe not. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * For A/B testing, first become familiar with both products. Then go to rapid switching. -

700watt power supply car display 2 amps and speakers?
Speedskater replied to JaredM42's question in Questions and Answers
The wattage ratings from many UPS or DC supplies is into a resistive load. Audio power amps draw current in very brief pulses. So a 700 Watt UPS or DC supply may be only able to supply 400 Watts to the amp. -
Wide bandwidth amplifier and AES cable
Speedskater replied to Kimo's question in Questions and Answers
I couldn't find the post that describes the test setup, but the chart still looks wrong. Heck in pro concert hall recording, 300 to 500 foot cables are common. In a modern interconnect system with a 200 Ohm output impedance an a 20 kOhm load. The chart looks more like 1000 to 2000 foot cables. -

That chart looks way, way wrong! -
That post is a decade old!

Wide bandwidth amplifier and AES cable
Speedskater replied to Kimo's question in Questions and Answers
Hopefully there is no analog signal above about 40 kilohertz! Anything higher is distortion, ringing or interference. Sometimes these high frequency problems can cause IM distortion in the audible range. But the higher frequencies carried by an AES digital interconnect cable are in the 10 to 20 megahertz range. -
Amp protection mode or home circuit problem?
Speedskater replied to GTB's topic in Analog Components
If you can still locate a lamp with an old fashion incandescent light bulb. Plug it into the same AC outlet as the amp. Those old bulbs are very sensitive to small voltage changes. -
The best plan is to power all your audio system components from the same AC circuit. It reduces ground, leakage and noise currents from flowing from component to component.

My thoughts: a] Balanced XLR interconnect systems are better than RCA unbalanced interconnect systems. But it's about the entire system, not just the cable. balanced output stage>>balanced cable>>balanced input stage. b] the differences in RCA interconnect sables will be in the noise and interference areas. The best cables are coax with a heavy braided shield. b] there are vast differences in RCA connector construction and reliability.
