  1. mav52, Actually, I didn't realize mav52 was included in the original post quoted. My post #84 wasn't really meant to include mav52, but I got nice invite out of it, anyway. Sounds like fun. FWIW, I think you have things a bit confused if you think I'm doing the same thing as those described.
  2. Looks like my earlier assessment you refer to was spot on. You are so blind to the real problem, it's not even worth discussing with you. Yes, the few you defend do intend to insult. This is the problem! Everyone knows it, except you. Yeah, if you think that would have any positive result you're more blind than I thought. Have you been following the same site as the rest of us?
  3. I think I can answer that. These are the types of people who were likely teased and picked on in life, were weak and awkward socially, isolated, lonely, insecure, and now angry. They feel a sense of power and control behind a keyboard, in the safety of their home, to do and say the kind of things they never could or would in real life. This new life is addicting, so they're here all the time. Much like the new capabilities some (described above) find in the fantasy world of video games.
  4. Why are you simply repeating what you already said while ignoring the point? My point was that if you're going to go around calling others ignorant all the time, you should look in the mirror first. And if you think it's okay to continually refer to a group of people as ignorant, then we'll see how you feel about receiving the same treatment. So far, as evidenced by post #57, you don't like it. If you rank electrical ignorance so high, where would you rank obese individuals' on the ignorance scale? Since you like to discuss ignorance so much, please educate us on ignorance as it relates to obesity. I'd much rather here about this form of ignorance, as it is far more detrimental and inexcusable than the electrically ignorant. And you're so concerned and obsessed with snake oil, why don't you discuss today's food industry, which pedals more snake oil to the ignorant than all industries combined, and with far more serious consequences. If you're willing to admit you're ignorant, and go into detail, I guess I wouldn't have a problem with you calling others ignorant as often as you do.
  5. That small Aurender X100s looks really nice. This is the first time I've had any thought of replacing the Mac Mini.
  6. Change the subject from audio to food industry, take a look in your fridge, take a look in the mirror, and think before calling others ignorant.
  7. Don't fall for the Sony DSD propaganda. Sony is deceptive and employs individuals' to promote the DSD agenda on various forums. Take a look at Hiro's posts, it should be obvious. A 5 year old could figure it out.
  8. This is not true. The only person who would say something like this is someone employed by Sony to promote the DSD agenda. Hiro is going ballistic again with his misquoting, badgering, and harassment of anyone who dare interfere with the Sony DSD propaganda. The Sony execs must be puttin' on the heat, Hiro. Get out there and promote!
  9. I think it would be really helpful if these types of statements included exact information. Which "old CD" version? There were many. Year, UPC, label, country? Including a picture to confirm possession and accuracy is even better. I'm not saying you're intentionally misleading here, just making a suggestion. Earlier I read a post from a newbie stating that this long list of download titles he bought were "better than the CD". Not exactly helpful… unless you're one of the download site.
  10. Wouldn't you agree that this is extremely bad behavior on his part (as well as libelous)? It's just a matter of time before he gets himself into a bit of trouble, I think.
  11. Predictable Dennis response. A. Inflated sense of importance. B. Believes he already knows everything. C. Common Dennis tactic here. Deflect the real issue, which is you and your abusive, demanding, condescending, incessant, trolling behavior and try and make it appear as though someone is attacking your "opinions" or interests in measurements. This tactic works on a few who aren't quite smart enough to see through it. Eloise, surfingalien, Boris75 have certainly fallen for it. It's been explained many times that no one is attacking opinions or interests in measurements. D. Always include the snide, belittling audiophile remark to get that pat on the back from the sheepish supporters. "Hey esldude, that's a good one, hah hah, durrrr."
  12. Hey esldude- If you're so "curious" why don't you go back to school and get an actual EE and CS degree instead of constantly demand everyone explain everything to you?
  13. Draws attention away from genuine antisemitism Brian Klug asserts that proponents of New Antisemitism define antisemitism so broadly that they deprive the term "antisemitism" of all meaning. Klug writes: "... when anti-Semitism is everywhere, it is nowhere. And when every anti-Zionist is an anti-Semite, we no longer know how to recognize the real thing--the concept of anti-Semitism loses its significance."[114] In the book The Politics of Anti-Semitism Scott Handleman writes: "Partisans of Israel often make false accusations of anti-Semitism to silence Israel's critics. The 'antisemite' libel is harmful not only because it censors debate about Israel's racism and human rights abuses but because it trivializes the ugly history of Jew-hatred."[115] Excessive accusations of antisemitism may result in backlash Brian Klug argues that excessive claims of anti-Semitism (leveled at critics of Israel) may backfire and contribute to anti-Semitism, and he writes "a McCarthyite tendency to see anti-Semites under every bed, arguably contributes to the climate of hostility toward Jews"[116] Tony Judt also suggests that Israel's "insistent identification" of criticism of Israel with anti-Semitism is now the leading source of anti-Jewish sentiment in the world.[117] Michael Lerner echos those thoughts and suggests that the continued "repression" of criticism of Israel may eventually "explode" in an outburst of genuine anti-Semitism.[118] Attacking the messenger rather than the message Michael Lerner claims that some supporters of Israel refuse to discuss legitimate criticisms of Israel (such as comparisons with apartheid) and instead attack the people who raise such criticisms, thus deliberately "shifting the discourse to the legitimacy of the messenger and thus avoiding the substance of the criticisms".[119]
  14. "Several commentators have asserted that supporters of Israel attempt to stifle legitimate criticism of Israel by unfairly labeling critics as antisemitic. One of the major themes of Norman Finkelstein's book Beyond Chutzpah: On the Misuse of Anti-Semitism and the Abuse of History is that some supporters of Israel employ accusations of anti-Semitism to attack critics of Israel, with the goal of discrediting the critics and silencing the criticism." "Some critics of Israel or Israeli policies, including Ralph Nader, Jenny Tonge, Noam Chomsky, and Desmond Tutu suggest that equating criticism of Israel with antisemitism is inappropriate or inaccurate. Other critics, such as John Mearsheimer, Alexander Cockburn, Norman Finkelstein, and William I. Robinson, claim that supporters of Israel sometimes equate criticism of Israel with anti-Semitism in a deliberate attempt to prevent legitimate criticism of Israel and discredit critics." "Musician Roger Waters is a critic of Israel's treatment of Palestinians, and was accused by the ADL of using anti-Semitic imagery in one of his recent musical productions. Waters responded by stating that the ADL regularly portrays critics of Israel as anti-Semitic, and that "it is a screen they [the ADL] hide behind"." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_Israel
