  1. Hi again, I got home tonight and fitted the VIA chipset firewire card and connected the DAC2. Everything is working fine. It looks like the problem was firewire incompatibilty. I can confirm that the DAC2 works fine with Windows 7 as long as you have a firewire connection using the VIA chipset. Ron
  2. Kent, it's still ongoing right now. The problem may be the firewire chipset not being compatible with the DICE driver. I've got a PCI firewire card with a VIA chipset on order to see if this solves it. I'll be away from home for 3 weeks from tomorrow but will be trying it when I get home. As soon as I have the results I'll post to let you know. I use Monkeymedia occasionally but mainly it's Foobar - I can't get MM to play Pink Floyd properly - it puts a break between tracks. I'm using the DAC2 on a SPDIF connection right now and it still sounds great. I wouldn't let this driver problem put you off the DAC2 - I'm sure it will be resolved. Ron
  3. I've tried the latest Weiss DAC2 firewire drivers on windows 7 without any success. I'm using SPDIF now and looking at getting a Lynx card. Ron
  4. Daniel, I've just downloaded the latest driver dated 16/11/09, uninstalled the previous driver and installed the new driver. I still get the flashing green light on the firewire channel. Windows tells me the device is working properly. It gives the driver date as 02/11/09 Ver.3.50.7171. When I double click on the Weiss firewire IO icon the program doesn't open fully it says Driver error: device not accessible. Ron
  5. Daniel, I got it a few days ago - it's date 4/11/09 18:31. Ron
  6. Hello, I've been reading here for several months without posting but need some help and this forum seems the best informed for the help I need. I have a DAC 2 which was connected via firewire to a Shuttle running XP. For most of the time this worked fine (occasional hiccups). Now I've upgraded to Windows 7 and can't get the drivers to work at all. I've tried connecting via firewire on three different computers running Windows 7 (32 and 64) but without success. I have installed the latest drivers. At the moment I'm using SPDIF but this ties up the connection I was using for my cable box. Has anyone had a similar problem and solved it? Regards Ron
