Having owned both the MMGs and Airmotiv 6s I'd highly recommend either.
The MMGs are fantastic but really need space. I unfortunately had to sell mine when I moved to a setup similar to yours. As for the Airmotivs...I actually think they lacked thump/punch completely. Amazing speakers if you're not concerned with the physical 'thump'. The wall of sound they create is something special.
I'm more of a headphone guy myself because of space constraints, but for your situation the Airmotivs over the MMGs would be my pick.
