  1. I would install an app called Control Fan Utility. This app allows you to turn up the fan speed of your PS3, so it'll run much cooler. As far as the sacd ripper version, I would only replace it with newer version if you have an issue ripping one of your sacd's.
  2. It's been a while, but to follow up on PS3 people still using their PS3's to rip sacd's.... I am on the latest Rebug cfw 4.82.1. I can confirm that the SACD ripper does work although buggy. Meaning when you start the rip process, the sacd ripper does not show the progress bar and appears to hang. I just let the ripping process do it's thing and return to my PS3 ~30 minutes later. At that point I cannot quit sacd ripper, so I soft power off my PS3 holding down the power button on the front of the machine. This does not corrupt PS3 system files. I rip ISO to USB and have never tried network ripping. I will try that later.
  3. I tried Joonie's ripper (0.38), and it did not work on my cfw rebug 4.81.2. It might be user error, but the thread you reference with instructions are a bit confusing. I have sacd ripper on another PS3 with rebug 3.55 and it works flawlessly. I will report back after trying to get this to work on the rebug 4.81.2.
  4. this is amazing development! Thanks for sharing!
  5. We can agree on this. Unfortunately, you are not part of this community. You're a solicitor who I, along with others here have tolerated until your recent showing. You should stop while you're ahead.... Wait, I take that back...please keep posting so the community can see you for what you are. So keep on keeping on...
  6. I can follow instructions from watching youtube videos, sorry...I also fixed my AC units replacing capacitors myself instead of paying the AC repair guy this past summer. Youtube also helped me fix my microwave machine recently. What a world we live in! I am currently learning how to play guitar in fact using youtube. Anyway, I redid the thermal paste on my cecha rebug 3.55. The ceche (was on 4.21 fw) was done by the repair guy from GA, since I am not an artisan like you to be able to mess with nand downgrades. I wanted to have a backup ps3 with sacd ripper, thus the downgrade to the second unit. If you look at the 33 page thread on ps3hax, you'll see that I had one of my two ps3's nand downgraded by a guy there. Ironically, you can even see I am "quattroatl" there with only one post asking the repair guy to PM me his contact info so I could get his service on his thread. Your conspiracy theory, although funny, is wrong. Sorry... In short, the jig is up on you, northeastohiopcs, not me. Members here now know they have an option to buy any sacd capable ps3 cech-a through cech-e, no matter what fw and have them nand downgraded for $60 with fresh thermal paste versus having to pay you $250 to $300 on your refurbed unit. Sorry to hurt your cashflow here. You opened the pandora's box, not me.
  7. I am from GA. Cat's out of the bag. Oh no, the atl in quattroatl might give me away also....I am not a ps3 repair guy like you. If I were a repair guy, I might have peddled my services like you, but I obviously am not like you. I can only imagine the countless PM's you must have sent members of this thread. I don't blame you. You probably helped many members in the last few years, as you are very active mining this thread for potential customers. Sorry for letting people here know about an alternative to your service. Based on your recent showing of your true colors, I would not want to deal with you as a customer. I am not condoning or advertising piracy. As others have said, the more you keep blabbering the less chance of people wanting to deal with your service. Your momma's quote is funny. Thanks for the laugh. Now take your ball and go home, please for the good of this forum. Here's my sacd library as quattroatl: SA-CD.net - Library Where's yours? You can also find me on quadrophonic quad forum. If you look hard there, you'll find a picture of me in Atlanta, GA with Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters. It's nice to have connections You can see my threads there as well as avsforum. I am quattroatl on every forum that talks about sacd, dvda, home theater, Canon photography, Audi cars, etc. I am an enthusiast much like 99% of forum members here. We all have our own collection of media. On this particular thread we use our ps3's to be able to rip our purchased sacd. You on the other hand, Northeastohiopcs, sell refurbed PS3's mostly to people pirating games. Until recently, you had a small group of people here buying your sacd capable ps3's as well. I mentioned your reball video because you readily mentioned how it was a new thing for you and haven't done many. Kudos and props, as reballing those chips is beyond difficult, and very few people can do that properly. I guess you're an artisan, Mr. PS3 Reballer...Bottom line is, reballing is new to you, but kudos nonetheless. Now go smell your hole like your momma said..... Cheers....
  8. For CA members interested in downgrading their sacd capable PS3 to firmware 3.55 or any cfw 3.55, there is a guy out of Georgia with documented NAND downgrades of actual forum members (136 so far). He charges $60, which includes an internal cleaning and thermal pasting with Arctic MX4. He downgraded my ceche unit, and the insides (I opened unit up to verify cleaning) was like new. You can find his link on ps3hax forum under services. Also, finding decent working sacd ps3's on fleabay is not that hard. Just have patience and ask the seller questions. People are dumping them left and right now with ps4 being out. Ironically, PS3 models with firmware above 3.55 is much cheaper and probably not abused.
  9. Northeastohiopcs, i don't have have a dog in this fight, but your comments and defense isn't helping you. U call out this "ungrateful community" from where you haven't made much profit, but then u say that you've sold more than 100 PS3 sacd ripping systems for very little profit to members here. I call bs and bs. U lurk on this thread for the very reason to sell your cfw sacd systems. And what's with your comment about selling PS3 slim systems for more profit in half the time about? Loading cfw on a slim takes the same amount of time as it does on a BC sacd fat PS3. Everyone knows that all these 3.55 cfw ps3's are primarily purchased by people for the sole purpose of pirating or stealing games. This is fact and not arguable. I have 2 sacd rippable ps3's and I'll let it be known that out of my 70 sacd's I own, I have ripped 4 discs total just to test out that my PS3's work as they should in. Almost EVERY sacd is out there on the Internet for free downloading in iso format. This is a fact. Nand flashing an sacd capable PS3 on higher than fw 3.55 back to cfw 3.55 or ofw 3.55 is easy and not that expensive. There are reputable guys on the west coast and east coast. Nor flashing slim ps3's is even easier for profiteers on eBay who knowingly peddle cfw ps3's to pirates. in short, don't pretend you've been here providing some great service out of kindness. as a third person reading the recent off-topic back and forth, the buyer should have gotten his replacement system without having to file an insurance claim...end of story. It's clear the replacement is now being offered to undo the bad publicity. You recently had a video showing your attempt at reballing PS3 Gpu or cpu, then you deleted the video. Reballing ps3's is not an easy task. The fact that you sell reballed PS3's says a lot. everyone knows that the reballed unit has had a ylod. And who knows what crappy reflow job was attempted to try and fix the ylod even before the reball repair. Most people who have done any research on this topic would stay away from supposed reballed systems pure and simple. ebayers and profiteers buy dead ylod PS3 for super cheap and reflow the system, slap on cfw, resell for huge profit....rinse and repeat. the window of opportunity at making money selling cfw PS3 is coming to an end as people are moving on to ps4. i feel your pain...almost....
  10. store.brewology.com has both the latest multiman and control fan. Another option is Irisman, which is another game manager like multiman. It has control fan built in. Call me crazy, but I actually still play games on rare occasions on both my cecha and ceche model ps3's. With control fan set to a manual 44% fan speed, both my ps3's run under 55 degrees Celcius for cpu and rsx. i also re-thermal pasted the ps3's with MX4. The process looks scarier than it looks. The main thing is to go slow especially with the ribbon cables. One of my PS3 is on Rebug 3.55.4 with sacd ripper and the other is on rebug 4.65.1 with 4.66 spoofer because I still play online with madden 15, fight night champion, and all other sports games. With QA Toggle enabled, it's easy to downgrade cfw back to 3.55. But I'm going off on a tangent, so I digress.
  11. you should be able to install sacd-ripper pkg as you are now. The 9.99 prompt indicates that the previous owner spoofed that as his fw, so that the ps3 cannot be updated to official fw accidentally. I would try installing sacd ripper, multiman 4.60, and control fan utility. Control fan utility is the best add on to any cfw ps3. I use manual mode for control fan, and the cpu and rsx chips both run extremely cool compared to default setting of syscon. Multiman needs to be loaded in order to run control fan. In short, you are not on official fw 3.55, but you are on Rogero cfw 3.55. You get to skip the step of having to install cfw and just install sacd ripper. good luck!
  12. A thread about the topic which might be useful... REBUG 3.55.3 and 4.21.1 REX EDITIONS and ’999′ DOWNGRADER
  13. I think the genie is out! I run rebug cfw and have the sacd ripper running perfectly on it. I don't know much else about what cfw does, and I don't really care. But it appears that there is a downgrade option now with rebug. I have a second sacd capable PS3 and will try the downgrade when I get enough courage! Codename: REBUG
  14. The sacd capable PS3's value won't go down in value I bet. It's still a rare model as most of those made are probably dead due to YLOD. The ones that are still running and good will still bring a premium.
  15. This is incredible development! I have a 2nd sacd capable PS3 that may be able to rip sacd's in the near future. Just wow!
