  1. i'm a recent joiner to the computer hifi mailaise, who can't spell malaise, anyway, i've always disliked itunes, felt it was crunching mid/treble unpleasantly, so a few weeks back i bought a low budget amp and speakers, itunes crunching issue was still there, with extra sibilance.... can i just mention i hate to pfaff about with things like hifi etc, spoils it for me. so in research i found out about higher def audio??? not super duper true turbo definition audio.!!??... i soldiered on, i discovered flac files.... almost melted my router downloading all my stuff in flac format and ripped my cd's in flac, thats when i discovered clementine for mac... instantly sounded nicer than itunes... nicer is a technical word, i dont mind boffins jargonismistic verbalisations, but sometimes 'often "i feel they love their stereo more than they love their music, which is really unhelpful to people like myself who just want a well balanced representation of the recorded music, the chap who said clementine doesnt adjust mac's audio midi set up auto matically is correct, i wasn't sure the midi part was being used by clementne, i thought it was purely for instruments in and out etc. i do see what he means about a veil over the sound, which since getting a cheap fiio dac d3, i can see too...annoyingly, before i just used headphone jack and it was a nice sound,,, muddy bass and vague stereo,, but lots of warmth and sparkle
