Maybe the better question is... Does anyone isolate their Audio Network ?

My home is wired Cat5e... I use Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro. Only wireless use is iPad, iPhone. The disclaimer... I am not a networking professional... But, I can install.. I know just enough to 'be dangerous' 😉 The question... If I use a small switch at my music server computer location... such as a USW-Flex-Mini... run from it directly to my Music server (modded Mac mini) and a run directly to my network player ( PS Audio Perfect Wave DAC)... and a run back to the Dream Machine to connect back to the network, does the traffic from the Mac to the player route direct or through the Dream machine?

The problem with this hobby is similar to most other things right now… rewriting definitions. The term audiophile has always described the pursuit of the perfect sound… not the cheapest good sound. We will test anything that might improve the sound of our audio systems. Yes… even cables… If someone claims a tweak can’t work, cables are marketing, room treatment isn’t necessary, etc., etc. …. They are not an audiophile. But, maybe someday.

No. Its fact... how can you miss what you've never heard?

The answer is simple.... if you have heard a really good system, some of us can't go back.. Audiophile. If you have never heard a good system, you don't know... so it doesn't matter to you.

I just listed my ultraRendu & W4S PS-1 on Audiogon.... and it SOLD within an hour...

Run pvc conduit from each location back to IT hub location.... you can upgrade at will...

Mini Reveiw of the Ultrarendu.... OMG! I finally got the settings on my Benchmark DAC3 correct, thanks to Rory Rall at Benchmark. This sounds wonderful... everything sounds better. But most of all the air around the instruments... they each find their own place. And if you've heard live stringed instruments, the sound of the fingers on the strings. And the 'hang time' (thats how I describe it) of each note is now audible... I'm hearing these recordings as never before. I haven't enjoyed listening to my music this much since vinyl...
